[Mary's face flickers into view, showing a very confused-looking teenage girl who's staring into the camera (bracelet) with the intensity of a brain surgeon mid-operation. After a moment she seems to become aware that it's on and broadcasting, starts slightly, then sits back, talking at the camera with distinct awkwardness.]

Oh, god- is this even working? I- I think so. Okay, okay. [Clearing her throat and kind of sitting up a little.] Hi. My name is Mary Campbell and I know I'm not the only person trapped here.

[Deep breath. On closer view, she looks rattled. Like she's been crying, but long enough ago that she can hide it somewhat.] I don't know if anyone out there can hear me or if you know me, but I need help. If anybody can tell me what's really going on- and if there's any way to wake up. [Deep breaths, Mary. Keep it together.] I'd just really appreciate it.

[She takes a quick breath and moves as if to turn it off, but then abruptly spits out-] I'm in Sigyn. [She pronounces it wrong.] If that means anything to anyone. I don't know if it does. I don't know anything.

[A grimace (she knows she's losing her composure) and she turns the thing off abruptly.]

[Oh, sweet Jesus, this is going to give him a headache.]

Time isn't so much a linear thing. It crosses constantly and can be manipulated if you know the right people. So --

And before you ask "but how do you know about Azazel and how I know him", I read a lot first-person accounts from people in the life because I a) like to know what I get into before I shoot something and b) knowing random crap is my area of expertise.

And ignore the guy with the honking for your own sanity, I'm pretty sure he just does that.

[Mary reads all of this, and Castiel's reply, and comes to the only conclusion that makes his meandering explanation make sense.]

You're a hunter from my world. You killed that demon? Really?

[Everything else can go screw itself. Screw it, just forget everything. She can't drag her brain out of the horrific loop that just saw her parents die.]

Yeah, I am.

My brother did, not me specifically. He's been pissing off my family for generations. Kind of asked for a bullet to the brain.

Your brother? It sounds like the same demon. I know someone who said it killed their mom. It killed my parents.

[Yeah, because their mom was you.

Christ, this is a lot more difficult than he thought.]

He's screwed up a lot of people's lives. That's what demons do best, right?

Yeah. I just wish I knew why. What did you know about him before you got him?

He's been stalking me for most of my life for some seriously bullshit reason that doesn't matter.

What about his motives? What he does? What are his patterns? Who does he go after and why?

The patterns and all of that don't really matter anymore; he's long dead and gone. But they're complicated and multi-layered -- I can't really explain everything in a text message and have it make sense.

But Azazel was loyal to his boss. [Lucifer.] And nothing was going to stop him from making sure the boss was happy.

It matters to me.

If you know me from my future, then that means my future happened, even though I'm here. So the future still matters. I need to know.

[She needs to know what's going to happen to her. She's realizing that holy shitballs, she just made a deal and those numbers always come in the end.]

[Silence for a moment or two.]

Only you know the terms of your deal.

I know of you. I don't know you personally.

[sdlfkjdh she was trying not to make it about her deal but unsubtle Mary is unsubtle. Or... maybe this guy actually knows. He's from her future. Maybe he's lying about knowing her or lying about not knowing her, maybe he knows more about this situation than she's saying. The possibilities are rising like panic in the back of her throat and she fucking has to know SOMETHING.]

What's your name? Your full name? You know mine.

[... Well. What's the harm?]

Sam Winchester.

Are you related to John? How far in the future are you from? Are you sure you're telling the truth about not knowing me?

My father was named John.

It was 2011 when I was home.

And yeah, I am.

[Let her connect the pieces on her own time. :C]

[The next message comes a good ten minutes later- a really huge delay, for this conversation. Mary's honestly afraid of the answers.]

What is your mother's name? Why did you say "was"?

[Aaargh, jeez, Mary.]

I think we should probably talk about the rest in person.

Just tell me if you are who I think you are. Please.

[Well. He's not going to text it. :C So he opens up a video feed.]

Tell me who you think I am first and I'll let you know if you're right or wrong.

[And then, much more gently:]

It'll help if you come to terms with it first, instead of the other way around.

[Mary's in Sigyn now, curled up and looking impossibly exhausted. At least this lets her get a good look at him, though, and- oh god. He looks just like Dad. She curls into herself with a wounded look.]

Are you Dean's brother?

[Because... Sam and Dean. It makes sense, in a terrible kind of way. Dean said he went after the demon, too. He hated that thing.]

[Sam is quiet for a moment before nodding slightly.]

Yeah. I'm younger. He's older. Which -- he probably said that around eighty times, give or take four.

[Mary's expression crumples slightly and she clamps a hand over her mouth tightly, eyes squeezed shut.]

You're my son. That's right, isn't it?
