This has been an unexpected week. First I find that I have been kidnapped by yet unseen gods. Then I discover that there are not only individuals here from my world - an apparent privilege that not all of us enjoy - but that some of those brothers and sisters are from times past and future from my own.

It's... all very perplexing. And at the same time, I can't help but feel some relief at the relative safety of this new home of mine - home for the time being.

[After a pause, he continues.]

Something I have noticed is that many of you are young - even very young. It's worrying that children in your position are stuck here in this city, separated from your parents or support structures, being deprived of those activities necessary to develop into a functional adult and achieve your full potential.

I understand the experience of being torn from your family and home and being expected to grow up abnormally fast. For those willing to speak with me, how old are you? If I am stuck here, I might as well extend a helping hand to those who may need it.

[Sheik stops, as if that was it, but makes one last comment before finishing.]

Also, Sister, I am ready to meet you at your earliest convenience.

It's a pleasure to meet you. How long have you been here, now, if I may ask?

Few weeks. Something like that.

[He pauses to count the days backwards, staring down at his hands as he does so. It takes a while for him to arrive at any answer, not because he's slow, but because he's meticulous and caught up in his own thoughts]

Yeah...few weeks.

Concerns aside, have you been managing alright...?

Mm. Guess so. Haven't broken much...or gotten hurt too bad. It's weird not having everyone else around, but--

[He runs out of words and shrugs to fill the silence]

Dunno.

Gotten hurt... "too bad"? Did you get injured?

Oh, uhm--

[He rolls up a jacket sleeve to shoe an array of bruises and band-aids]

Kinda clumsy...

[A beat]

I mean. Really clumsy.

Oh. [He chuckles.] What happened? I don't mean to make fun of your when I laugh, I just used to be very clumsy myself.

[He examines his arm thoughtfully - usually he'd prefer not to elaborate but, well, if this Sheik guy can understand it can't be too bad]

Tripped and scraped my arm here--

[he motions to a bandage]

Uhm. Hit my arm on the sink here.

[he nods at a bruise]

Stuff like that.

[Sheik has a hard time believing that, really, but he decides to let it drop as they've only just met.]

Are you naturally clumsy, or...?

Yeah. 's just something that happens.

I'm used to it.
