Bear with me, I'm going to talk a lot in a moment. [whatever she was working on, she finishes and closes the notebook.]

So, I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help me with a census. The names of everyone here, where they come from, what language they speak, what House they're in and with what power... More besides, if we wanted. There's no purpose to it except knowledge and curiosity. If there's anyone actively trying to find a way home, it would be available to them if they wish to look for patterns or whatever. [she waves a hand impatiently] I won't lie and say it's not for my own curiosity as well. I'd like to see what patterns there are, if any - and I wouldn't mind just keep tracking of how many people are here in general and how we've been disbursed among the Houses.

[there's a smirk and a dry tone as she adds:] The biggest problem with a census is tracking those not willing to participate. Though I'm perfectly willing to just have a margin of error and not really worry about it, considering this, again, doesn't have much purpose besides killing a few cats.

Of course, there could be more practical applications - finding out who has any medical or healing knowledge or ability. I know Sigyn has an actual healing power and there's the hospital as well, but I think it would be useful to know if there's anyone nearby in the case of an emergency, so that immediate medical attention can be given until the injured person in question can be moved to the hospital or a Sigyn healer can arrive. Zen has a small clinic set up in the Heimdall House, and I think it might not hurt to have similar setups in the other Houses.

I'll probably also like to make packages of information for easy reference for newcomers, with addendums for those who arrive from special circumstances. [she spreads her hands, a smirk drawing across her features] I definitely would have appreciated one on "electricity" when I arrived, so I figured I should make it a little easier for anyone else like me who didn't have this kind of technology.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Help, too, if you're interested.

I do want to go home, but while I'm here, I want to do what I can to help people. I've only been here a couple days, so I don't know how much help I can be yet, but let me know if there's anything I can do.

That's a sentiment I definitely agree with. [chin on hands] Organizing and delegating are really the only skills I have that I can think of as being useful around here, so I just do what I can.

Plus, I'm a bit bored. So tell me, Apollo, any suggestions for what should go on this thing besides the obvious? Or how to get even the non-compliant to answer?

Organization's one of my skills, too.

[He takes a moment to think this over.] There's the contact list that you can find on the bracelet. Everyone's name is listed there, and if you want to find out more information... You could go back and read everything that's been posted publicly. Which might be tedious, but people do tend to give out a lot of information on the network. [Maybe it's a little like spying, but it is all public, and people can filter if they want.]

At least the list of names is a start, so you'll know who has and hasn't gotten back to you. You can use it like a checklist. If people don't want to reply, I guess that's their prerogative.

World and year people come from would be good to ask about, to find commonalities and connections. Also particular features of their world, since I'm learning some people are from alternate versions of mine. Specialized knowledge and professions, definitely.

[she turns to him and smiles, impressed] Hm. I'd thought about the locations thing, but I'm glad to hear it from someone else. Also didn't think of the professions. I'm lucky to have you as a sounding board.

They can! I think the list updates itself whenever people leave or arrive, but I haven't been here long enough to say that for sure.

People with certain professions might know or be able to do things that could be useful to other people, so that's always good to know.

Oh, thanks! [He smiles back.] I'll try to think of more things. I'm in Odin House, by the way.

I can try to poll my house once things get underway, if that'll help. Maybe we could have a census taker or a team of them in each one, since they're the places everyone comes together.

And if you ever need any more help with technology, let me know. Most of the stuff here is like what we've got where I'm from. Except the bracelets.

That's probably the smartest way to go; chipping away, one House at a time. Otherwise our heads might all explode. [small grin]

And...you know, I think I'd like that. I really have barely any idea what I'm doing. You'd think the gods would be nice enough to consider us relics.
