If none of us are able to, I know there are native folks who can-- we never bothered asking other travelers, honestly, but then we didn't really plan the whole thing.

Far as traditions go, it sort of varies where I'm from, but it usually depends on your religious practices. Some people skip that and just get the legal part settled, though.

As for weddings, it really depends back home. A lot of people prefer the religious kind, where you are supposed to say your vows before God. Other people prefer to just say their vows to each other, as a promise rather than something entirely religious.

I have not heard of a wedding that did not have the view of the Gods upon it. I think that Loras and I will entertain the notion, however.

Mm, among my people marriage itself was a fairly simple affair - the using of the Name for the vow, and the consummation being sufficient. But the events leading up to that now... that depended. In Valinor it was customary for there to be an engagement of a minimum of one year - at the time of the announcement, silver rings were exchanged, which would be changed for gold at the wedding. How grand or small an event it was depended largely on the individuals themselves. But in Middle-earth things were less formal, on the whole, although the basics for the marriage remained as I have said. The engagement might be done away with entirely, for example.

That was how it was for my folk, in any case - Men and Hobbits had other traditions, and likely the Dwarves also.

I married my wife through handfasting. It was pretty quick, really. We agreed to be husband and wife and then we kissed.

A god might be able to help you with the joining but if you want to get technical I'm a captain of a ship and could also do it. Even if, also technically, that wouldn't necessarily extend beyond my ship but this is also Asgard. And technically my ship exists across all of time and space so who knows what officials would consider that.

That sounds quite simple and the most employable of the things I have heard, truly.

I am not sure what to think of your ship, ser, to be sure. I have received a similar offer, however, and I would not like to put you out.
