[The shuffling of papers and some sort of metallic object getting the last few details hammered into it could be heard in the background before a few friendly faces appeared on the screen.]

Buon pomeriggio Asgard!

Aladdin, Tony Stark and I have been working on a project for a few weeks now and I think we are to the stage where we could use some help with it. That is if anyone interested in a light weight armor with the added protection of runes? We could use a few volunteers to test the design.

We need people with all sorts of different shapes and body types for this. It's important to get all information we can so this will work.

[Aladdin says over his shoulder, he is doing a few last minute checks on the rune work.]

Si, just as he says. So would any of you be willing?

Eh? Yeah, I can make some time in that case. [She nodded.] I'll be by a little bit later on. Is there anything I should bring?

Hmmm...

[Time was taken to sit back in his chair and thoughtfully stroke his beard.]

Anything you believe might do the armor some damage? So we can improve its flaws.

A few things come to mind. I think I have a pistol somewhere in the shop. We can test weapons on it, but I would ask if you've already tested one of the runic explosives on it.

Ah, we should have thought of explosive runes! I suppose we overlooked those as we were thinking only of the frost and fire giants.

But si! We could test all of these things!

[He is just so excited he might bust! This whole experiment had been amazingly fun and interesting so far and it looked like it was only going to get even more so.]

I don't think a lot of people have been thinking about them. I've made a few over time, so I've got some extra. I'll bring one of them over. Just make sure I'm testing this on one of them that you can afford to lose, jut in case it goes wrong.

Well, with something like that I doubt the armor could hold up. I think that one would be more to test the strength of the runes to make certain anything placed inside the armor did not suffer a burn.
But we will see! It might surprise me!

If you're using the runes I think you are, the pieces might actually survive the blast but the joints and undershirt would probably be damaged. It could be repaired maybe. we'll see though. It's not like we see people use runic bombs often.

It is just as well more people do not think to use them.

[Just imagine what might happen it the enemy gained this skill!]

We might have a second set of armor we could try this on, or I could always draw one up now that I have seen how it all goes together.

Sounds good. I'll be along in about a half hour. [She cut the feed and headed out, making her way towards where Leonardo had indicated. She had enough time for this sort of thing, so there was no reason not to help out. It was, after all, a good plan.]

[They were having a small tea break at the hour Samantha arrived and by that I mean Tony and Aladdin were working without stop and Leonardo was at the stove trying to get some tea started... the little tea packets were just being unreasonable by sticking to each other and getting their strings all tangled together.]

[She stepped up beside Leonardo and looked at the packets with a raised eyebrow. Pointing at them, she coughed once and tried hard not to chuckle.]

Need a little help there?

If you think you might have greater luck with them?

[He sighed before stepped away to give the lady working room. ]

I was tempted just to cut the strings off of them and scoop the packets out after they had been brewed with a spoon. It would sacrifice the string's usefulness but... who stores tea this way?

[Someone made tea on a regular basis. Admittedly it usually wasn't with filter bags, but she could untangle them eventually. Well, that's what she thought anyway before she finally grabbed the scissors and snipped.

Handing them back, she smirked.]

You're right. Cut them.

It's designed for people who don't have the patience to brew it properly, and when you're too busy with other things to make your own blend.

[HA! Employing the fail safe technique was she? Good for her!]

Bene! We would have spent all afternoon on that and accomplished little else.

[Leonardo lowered his voice to a conspiratorial level as he leaned briefly closer to Samantha's ear. ]

I think Messer Stark spends too much time on his projects to worry about what sort of tea his workshop has.

[And break! He stepped back to see about getting that water to boil. ]

I on the other hand have always preferred those tea blends Euri invented. A shame she is no longer here...

It could be worse. I have a tea back at the shop that protects against curses but tastes like rotten eggs and boiled leather gone sour. This pre-packaged stuff's ok in a pinch.

[She sighed a little at Euri's name, glancing away. They'd never gotten on.]

She was a ... useful soul, yes.

[Leonardo's nose wrinkled at the thought of... ugh, rotten eggs and soured boiled leather? Phew! Who would even be able to drink the stuff?]

If protected against the curses sent against us by Thaizi it... might be worth drinking. Unless just the smell of the tea is enough to keep her away, a sort of repellent?

[Euri could rub people the wrong way he knew, she was always getting into something, but she had been really sweet to him when he first arrived in Asgard so that was remembered more than anything else. ]

Thiazi? No, I wouldn't bank on it if one of hte giants went hard on a person. It's just the lesser curses that it helps. The smell, though, would probably do a damned good job of keeping people away. That Much I know. I used to drink it often.

If it smelled that bad how could you stand it?

[The newly freed teabags were dropped into each cup full of boiling water and then left to seep as he searched through the draws of things looking for a spoon. ]

Were you trying to prevent those curses the Gods used to send on us from getting the better of you?

It was that, or I lost control. [She shrugged.] Or at least that's what I thought. I've found better ways by most standards, but the losing control was worse. You've been here long enough. Don't tell me you haven't seen me act like a rabid beast before.

I do not think...

[He almost recoiled from her as he tried to remember when something like that might have happened. ]

Not unless it was during one of those times when so many others were also corrupted?

Don't worry about it. [She shook her head, though she didn't really react to the shrinking. She'd seen it before.] It doesn't happen anymore. I asked Loki to implant runes. They control my hormones, and I ... remembered the last year and change of my life when I finally learned how.

I used to be a bit like... hmm, have you ever heard of piranha?

Non capisco, piranha?

[The statement flew with a wave of his hand. ]

It is a kind of weapon maybe?

No, they're fish. [She sighed.] Like sharks, when they smell blood in the water, they go into a feeding frenzy. I'm a predator by nature, and ... until I found ways to deal with what I need to feed, I went into frenzies.

It used to be ugly. I'm actually glad you never saw.

[A South American fish. They hadn't even discovered that land mass in the time he came from, but he is used to not understanding everything more modern people say. ]

From what you say I am glad of it too.

[Ah a spoon! The utensil was turned to the task of 'fishing' out those teabags now that Leonardo had deemed they had sat in the water for long enough. ]

And also that you were able to find a way to bring those instincts of yours under control. There is trouble enough with the giants, trying to stop one of our own from killing people...

[He just can not imagine what that kind of compulsion would be like. ]

It must have been horrible for you.

Merlin used to tie me up with ... with Eridan's help. They'd lock me in a room for the day until I got it under control again. [She sighed, taking a cup from him and breathing in the vapor.] It got bad when someone tried to break me out once, but it's over.

I'm not what I want to be, but I'm not dangerous like that anymore anyway.
