[Steve's voice sounds clear and well rehearsed as he speaks into his bracelet, as if he had actually planned the speech before hand to avoid stumbling on his words. Which...he'll never admit to.]

This may sound strange, but I was wondering if anyone is at all skilled in sewing. I have something that needs patching up, but the damage is more than I'm able to fix myself. I would really appreciate it if someone would help me out. I'm willing to pay for the work, of course.

[This is a task he's been putting off, but as things move closer and closer to total warfare, he figures now is as good a time as any to have his uniform patched up.]

...If anyone has any tips on getting out blood stains, that would help a lot as well.

I'm Steve. I've been here for a couple of weeks. And I'll admit that I spend most of my time training at the gym so that might be why we've never crossed paths before.

You, the gym, me working in a lab with chemicals and teaching first aid or wandering around rooftops in fits of boredom. Yeah, we'd never run into each other that much, would we?

[She chuckled softly] So, did you sign up with the military team, or still deciding?

At least you seem to have a variety of things to keep you busy. My schedule seems a little lacking compared to that.

I signed up with the military. It seemed like the thing to do. What about you?

I like to keep myself busy. It keeps me from going insane. I've signed up with the Medics [And the Strike Team but she wasn't going to actually say that on open channels.]. I've been with them back when Merlin first set them up, so it seemed like a good idea now that he's disappeared.

What house did you end up in?

I can relate. You can't go wrong with the Medics, provided you know what you're doing. Once things kick off you and your group are going to be needed. Good luck.

I have skills for it, and I can boost them... but I'm less a field medic and more "The girl who's going to make sure they don't survive attacking you." Any potions or meds I have for them will help, but them not dying and getting a boost from whatever I bring down is worth it.

Field medic or not it still sounds like you're trying to save lives. That's the important part, no matter how you get it done.

Heh. That's a kind way of describing what I do, but thanks. [She smirked at him.] I'm a lot better at taking things apart than putting them back together.

That's another thing that's useful on a battlefield.

Yeah, maybe. If I can get it back in fighting shape.

Yeah. I picked it up while I was on the force. More functional than anything, but it had its uses when I was on missions.

The more functional the better. That's what sets uniforms a part from running around in jeans and a t-shirt isn't it?

Jeans, a t-shirt and a ball-cap worked just fine for me for a long damned time. The suit had more pockets. That, and the fact that it blended into stone well, were the things I liked about it most.

Jeans and a t-shirt are fine in a pinch. But they're not exactly made for battle.

That depends a lot on the battle. I've ended up having to fight in those plenty of times. Was the suit better built? Bullet proof or something?

Not exactly. But it definitely offers more protection that just regular clothing would. And it's more flexible.

Then it has its uses. [Sounded like the armor she'd had made from a dragon's scales.] I can see why you'd want it back, not to mention that sometimes it's just easier to get 'into' a fight if you're dressed the way you always dress in one.

Yeah. It's been a long time since I've been in a fight just wearing casual clothing. It would feel strange.

A little less for me, but I think I get it. [She paused and shrugged.] Well, I'll probably see you around. Good meeting you.

Yeah. It's nice meeting you too. Have a good rest of your day. [He smiles.]
