We are going to war, and people are going to die. Do they always come back?

Does one always become a ghost? In that case, how long does one stay that way?

I don't know people become a ghost.

For as long as I have been here, until that incident, people always came back alive and unghostly.

Returning to the city as a spirit was unusual. It might have something to do with their world dying.

Not always. People don't always come back. They usually do, but there are moments... times... when they don't come back at all.

And being a ghost is far more rare.

It was not my experience, but I am learning that is not what usually happens.

I've died before. [Best let her think he's talking about the Red Wedding, instead of telling her in detail about the other deaths.] Most of the time, before then, people came back almost immediately. This time was different.

I believe it was the first time anyone has been turned into a "ghost". I believe what happened this time was different.

The last few weeks were the first time I'd heard of ghosts, here.

But I don't think it's a guarantee that anyone'll come back.

I can only agree, even though I must admit that I feel gratitude for this power they have to bring the dead back to life.
