I know that there is a lot unknown and unexplained. There are a lot of questions that we'd like the answers to. I'd rather focus on what is known.

[ Who wouldn't? But she's information collecting. Maybe get enough questions together and take them all to a god. Maybe ]

I'd like to know what your experience was like arriving here. From the amount of people that have mentioned feeling sick after arriving it's clear that something has changed. Is there anything specific that you remember? Has anyone reported similar experiences before?

[ The sickness. Drowning. Seeing the sight of burning cities... people. She's felt it all, remembers it. And now she's hearing things - cries, feeling emotion that she knows she isn't feeling herself. What is it? ]

Has anything out of the ordinary happened recently? Anything that could cause the change?

[ Out of the ordinary for war, anyway. She's been going over the information but there is a lot there. Any filling in would definitely be appreciated ]

It doesn't matter what it is, anything could be important.

It's all new, if that's what you're asking. Before when people arrived it was fairly seamless - they show up in the castle, are told the relevant information (Houses, powers, etc.) and then sent out into the city. Depending on what was going on in the city, they might have shown up in the midst of something, but nothing like what's been going on.

There's something happening in the city, something that hasn't happened before, and it's affecting a lot more of us than events like this used to. Detailing out everything will take longer than you have, or I have, because it involves a whole lot more than what most people know.

[ okay, that sounds ominous, but kate's referring more to an entire history of events. of things happenings, relationships with the gods. she's been in this city for over a year now and trying to 'explain your experience' is kind of a bigger question than she's willing to give out to someone she's never met. ]

I'm assuming you just arrived.

[ And even if this woman is skipping out on her own experience the rest is still good information. So something did change, and it seems to be big ]

How recently was the last event?

[ Her next thought is to question how destructive it was, but was the place that she remembers seeing Asgard? It was a burning city, how could you know? ]

And do you know the full story?

[ Even if she wasn't about to detail it ]

There was a giant flood. Destroyed just about the whole city. Before then the fire and ice giants were battling a ways off from the city but managed to do some considerable damage. Before now, all the events only really applied to the landscape itself. Until this.

[ there's no harm in letting people in this city know what's happening, or what has happened. and maybe that's not what she was asking, but she mentioned important information, right? ]

Just a couple of weeks ago. Not long. And no, no one really knows the full story. The only one who I would think would know anything close would be Sam Winchester, but he's not here.

When did he leave? And did he leave anything?

[ Would that be too much good fortune? For some notes or any record. The person that knew the most was gone. It was typical luck. As for the rest... ]

The flooding affected the bridge. If the gods aren't aware who would be the best to make aware?

He left the city some time ago, before all of this started happening. It's too close to be a coincidence, but we lost contact with a bunch of them the other day. All I knew then was that they weren't experiencing the same things we are here.

There are notes. About powers and the gods and the houses. [ attached to this text maria can find two documents, labeled the gods of asgard and contacting the gods. ]

How many were lost?

The Asgardian's have been to Earth before. When they do they use some kind of bridge. It's what connects Asgard to other worlds. It's not the only way of travelling but it's what they tend to use.

[ Never mind that her version of Thor kind of broke that but who shares that info ]

Everyone on the trip. I don't have any exact numbers because the organization of it in itself was supposed to be under the radar, but a good number.

[ kate had heard the rumors floating around some of the other travelers, but she hadn't taken them into account until they were gone. some kind of trip to find something the gods were too scared to go find, she thinks. but she's not certain enough to relay the information just yet. ]

Going to go out on a limb here and say you're talking about Thor and the Avengers.

[ oh hi oldschool comics. marvel was always her jam. ]

If I'm right, then this is something different. A different set of the same gods, with different rules and magic. I don't know if your bridge is the same one they use here, even if the terminology might be.

I guess that's not a secret here.

[ To be honest it wasn't really a secret back home either, not after New York. Here it was a different world with people that didn't know about it. But Stark was here ]

I'll guess that you wouldn't know how they managed that.

Here, or in some worlds back home. Where I come from, that whole organization is a comic series. Iron Man, Captain American, Black Widow - they were fictional. But not that's not the case where you're from, is it?

[ rhetorical question, but still. ]

Yeah. This place assumes the norse pantheon as a set of magical beings. Your world - I'm guessing - they're heroes. They have their own Odin, Thor, Loki, etc. - and you probably have yours. Different set.

Magic.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was. There's always been something about them.

[ Memorabilia for Iron Man, but Stark wasn't exactly hiding that, and Captain America had an exhibit - but he was a hero. After New York... all of them got something, people went crazy about it all. Even the Hulk had fans. But comics? That had to be a strange one. Where did you even go with that? ]

Legend more than heroes. Only Thor and Loki have been to Earth recently.

[ And some of Thor's buddies but she was going with the gods that had been mentioned here. The gods people seemed to know ]

I've seen Loki's illusions. Another world of the same people is a bit different.

It's a little different when you have actual people versus comic book characters.

[ complicated! yes. worth worrying about? she didn't think so. not in lieu of what was going on. ]

If it's anything like the comics, they're there. Just in Asgard. But I wouldn't call this an illusion, or if you wanted to think of it that way, I guess it could be. But it's a little more complicated than that. Especially when people who might have had the ability to break through have their...well, magic, stripped from them.

Because of the harm it could cause to them.

[ She remembered something about that in Loki's handy little guide. But Steve still looked the same, rather than the man he'd been before. Maybe it didn't undo that entirely. But then there was that vampire, and the girl that said they'd been altered - put together wrong? ]

We can't exactly deny it being real. We're here and this is all happening, however different it is. What comes next? What's happening right now? Is anything being done to find the people that were lost?

Yeah. It doesn't work well with the magic of the city, or the other lands. There was an event a while ago where you could use the magic from home, and all the people that did...well. It didn't end well for anyone.

Right now we're fighting Ragnarok. The war to end all wars, the norse apocalypse, etc etc. Most of us are just trying to survive event to event, trying to make something of the time we have here, but that doesn't always work out when the city can send any of us back at any time. Right now? We're in an event. People are showing up with visions of home being destroyed and memories are failing, of here and of home.

As of now, no. But they're not really lost, either. They made the decision to leave and they'll be back when they find what they're looking for.

I got the vision. Do you think it's a warning/incentive or a sign that it will happen?

[ That they can't really stop it. Or that currently their efforts are going badly - that they need to do more. It's just opinion time now ]

How are your memories? It could make it more difficult if we forget why we're here.

I don't think it matters. We're fighting a war and if it makes a difference then whatever you want it to be. You won't know either way until you go home. But my opinion? I'd say a warning. Based off how things here usually work.

They've been coming and going. Right now? Fine. It always seems to come back to having them.

As long as we have them.

We still had contact with them up until yesterday. They weren't having the memory issues. Or visions, from what I could see.

Has anything ever affected only a select group before?

Yes. Sometimes it's only a select few that feel things, see things, have things happen to them, etc.

There was a time when a group of people from the city ended up in a parallel match of the city, but a different universe- if you want to call it that.

What brought them back?

Is it ever the same people?

One of the gods stepped in. Closed the gap between the two places. Brought everyone back with him.

No, or at least, not close enough for it to be a pattern. I've checked once or twice but it's too difficult to do it every time.

[ It might be something worth looking into despite the difficulty - a more personal project. Take the names starting from now, finding out who was lost, how they had been chosen and slowly work backwards. Talk to everyone. It would be big, and a headache, but anything could help (even if it didn't) ]

Was the parallel world just that one time?

[ For it to happen again, or have happened... it wasn't just other worlds at risk but universes? ]

[ and if maria didn't want to do that whole 'solo mission' bit, kate would be happy to help when she could. she only had so much free time with the forensics unit - but she could help. kate knows how hard these jobs can be when you're doing them on your own. ]

To that extent, yeah. Most of the events that happen here all seem to come from different sources, different people, but there are a lot of them that have to do with the gods directly. That one had to do with the land itself, the 'Tree of Life' or whatever you want to call it.

I'm sure there were others, but I haven't been keeping track.

I've got a lot of catching up to do.
