[There's gotta be a better way to do this. There's just got to be. However he realizes that he's running out of time, especially with the appearance of certain people in the city of Asgard.

He doesn't bother to show his face. Instead he's setting up a text…somehow that seems much, much safer.]

Party's over, I'm afraid. Back to business.

Quick question for the masses:

A.) Would you consider yourself useful here?
B.) Why so? Or, I suppose, why not?

[He's fully anticipating not-serious responses, but at least it gives him a bigger pool to work with.]

Additionally, you may very well know that Euridice Taverna's left the city which means that I'm short one business partner. I'm not precisely looking for a new partner, but perhaps a few new hires.

Upon my own realm, I am an adept sorcerer, arcane magics and ancient artifacts my strength. My knowledge stems from an era that existed before the birth of light, and unlike my other attributes, is perhaps the only quality I find fortified by this plagued universe. [Wait, is he talking about this Asgard, or-?]

I lead my people in rebellion against Asgard, a feat I promise I will be successful in yet. You will understand, then, my disinclination to give you truthful answers to your questions.

My own, of course. I don't cater to their needs specifically. [Not always.]

I suppose that's just as much of a reason as any. [He's heard tales about Other Asgard, but usually from Thor and Loki. Who the hell is this guy that he's talking about sorcery and rebellion? It's not a bad thing to discuss, mind, but it's unexpected.]

This Asgard has a tendency to bring in the most powerful from each universe simply to drain them of their abilities and mold to their own needs. You can imagine why I'm not too pleased with them.

[It's too bad they're communicating over text. Even if that "most powerful" comment wasn't intended for Malekith directly, there's a certain prideful posturing that adds itself to his spine, wherever he's typing from.]

A mutual sentiment. Do you think they disarm us out of fear? Some perverse form of entertainment, perhaps? If they wanted their war won, would it not be easiest to leave us equipped so that we might fight swiftly and efficiently?

I am unimpressed.

Given what we've seen here in the ages some of us have been on this world, it's simply because the gods can't actually keep us together without us spontaneously combusting. [There's a longer explanation that Loki explained to him, but he's keeping that info to himself for now.]

I'm quite a huge fan of not exploding if it's all the same to you.

[What goes unsaid from Malekith, though, would be something along the lines of "if they cannot withstand my power, why would they seek it out?"

Still, how comforting it is to know that any moment of weakness on their behalf could result in my death. Or do I misunderstand what you convey?

If you're interpreting the fact that should they lose a hold on us our death might be untimely and brutal, then no, you're not misunderstanding.

Apparently we ought to feel better knowing that we can be revived from death in this place.

[One doesn't live for millenia without knowing what to ask. A serious loathing for their hosts definitely helps out, though.]

Do you find that a consolation? Should I hold trust the same powers that would kill me, out of loss of control, would then be capable of restoring life?

Do you have such faith in the gods?

Of course I don't. [To both finding it to be a consolation and to having faith.]

However, I've died and they've revived me, so I suppose it isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility.

I will consider your opinion more credible than any other, then, if you have felt their power so intimately. To be brought back from death is no small feat. Still, if they do not have your faith, what would they have from you?

Respect? Admiration?

I know how death works in this world and I know a bit about the revival process now. If they've earned anything from me, it's simply curiosity. I don't have room for admiration, honestly.
