Held carefully, but firmly in his hand is a wriggling white snake with a single line of purple starting at its head and trailing down the part of its neck that is visible. Which is to say... up until the bandage that wraps around it. And yet, it seems remarkably tame considering it has yet to make any movement to bite him.]

Does anyone know how to care for a snake? When I came back to my room, I found her curled up on my bed. She has a habit of... adventuring, so I'll probably need a cage for her.

Also, I guess I might as well ask - anyone get something unusual as their gifts? I've heard we have a lot of people here who have powers where they come from, but who lost those powers when they got here. Did any of you happen to get magical trinkets that still work?

I think it was shortly after I got accepted into school. The school probably asked them to record a video to help me feel better about living away, but it was two years ago, so I don't know what happened to them...

That's how I'm thinking about it too. The video didn't show anything, besides the destroyed living room, so they probably got out fine. The Mastermind would have shown them if she could have.

They've probably got out alright, especially if they're not in the video with the destroyed living room. There must be shelters out there, in the midst of all the chaos.

The city should have plenty of shelter space. So in the end, you just have to hope they were able to get to one in time.

It's one of the first things I'm going to do when I get back home. Of course, help my classmates look for their friends and family members too, but I don't think I can go back home until this war is over.

Are you sure about that?

Huh? Do you mean the people who get sent home just randomly?

Exactly. If that's the case, it's technically possible you could get there before the end of the war.
