2nd video revised

[The feed shows Sonya in her room, though there's nothing to suggest much in way of personality save for her being in civilian clothes of a sweater and jeans. Before her is whatever serves as news papers and adds in Asgard.]

So..I've been looking into paid housing in this place. I have two jobs in the city, so I should be able to afford something decent with one or two house mates.

I'm just wondering if there's any point? The Welcome Halls are pretty well furnished and definitely better than some of the barracks I've been assigned to in the past.

Do they really expect us to settle that much in this place? Or is paid housing just something to be set aside for families or those with friends that they want to stick close by?

What about the homes themselves? The papers give a general reading on which districts have which sort of housing, but I trust first hand accounts more than what's put in for advertizements-they tend to gloss over details.

I managed to luck into a place; I do not know the rules--I am sure friends do manage to find places, together?

I would think it's the same as any form of housing-lease agreements, figuring rent and amenities, wondering if the landlord will actually process rents in the first place. [The process itself is an old song and dance for her.]

I'm all up for arranging something with a stranger or in a home with someone else, I'm just wondering if there's a vast difference. Besides of course not having to share a home with any potential walking-disasters.

Well, I appreciate having a place of my own, and not having to share my space with a stranger. Being able to live with my sister and Renly greatly helps our situation, at least. But I suppose it is different for those with no one from home.

I have family to take care of, now.

I think I've met both of them actually. Your sister especially, nice lady, but can't say I think any better of this place after they have someone arrive in that state in this weather and didn't even provide her a coat.

You're right, though..it is different. And frustrating.

I found her soon enough to take care of such a thing.

This place gave me her back; I can't complain if they do not give her a coat.

It is a frustration, but I am sure you will be able to sort it out soon enough.

[She finds herself smiling back.] Seeing one's family again does make everything else secondary.

It's still in deliberation, to be honest. I know a few people here well enough, but it's a matter of it being even worth it when I don't know any of them that well.

[She thinks a moment, a hand cradling her chin and a nostalgic smile appearing on her face when she thinks about some of her time as a sergeant.] Then again, they don't really give much choice in living arrangements for NCOS in the army. Just stick some women together and hope they get along well enough.

Well then you are used to the situation. I suppose I am, as well, in some ways. The Kingsguard has to live within certain quarters, but as the brother to the Queen I usually spent my nights with her, instead.

Still, it would be nice to have my own place, or atleast a place that doesn't have so many people boarding there.

Call it wishful thinking on my part.

I only wish that I could be more help; I can definitely understand the sentiment.

If you know anyone willing to share a place-and I don't have to keep watching over my shoulder for-that would be helpful.

[She pauses a moment] Just a thought..and a crazy one at that..you have Renly and Margaery living with you-are either one of them looking for employment? Because that's going to add up.

If I hear of anyone who needs that, I will let you know, yes.

[Loras nods.]

Aye, Renly is, at least.

[Or at least Loras hopes he is.]

I don't mind trying to pay for them both, though.

Worst case scenerio, could be brought in to support the bill.

[It was an offshoot idea really, one she was supportive of as well as she was indifferent to.]

This whole deal is just on the fence,especially if my suite-mate moves out and I end up with someone disagreeable-then I already have something to fall back on.

Plan B's are usually good things. Especially when there aren't any.

[She can say from experience being on the field. That those times resulted in few casualties besides some wounded means she can look back and laugh on them now.]

I learned that he hard way; I try to have multiple plans now.

I think basically all of that is up to you. As for the homes, it seems to me that you get what's advertised.

You still live in the god house or have you moved out?

I moved out pretty much right away. Already had people to stay with.

Lucky you. I'm still looking and there's no one from home to room with.

[Unless of course Kano, Tsung or god forbid Kahn ever shows up...she'd rather rough it up on the streets.]

Otherwise I think you could manage living in your own if you go for one of the flats built for two people.

[She frowns, not upset, but considering and looks at what's available and what's taken, a smile appearing on her face as she reads it.

What'd you know, there's an empty flat available in Balder district-amenities don't look so bad either.

Oh, yeah. That's where me and Sherlock are. Nothing wrong with it.

So far it's looking the most probable option. I'm all for roughing it, but I'd rather not live in a slum if I can help it.

[She's looking through ads as she speaks with him. After a brief pause, she turns the video on private: what she's about to share she doesn't feel like going open with it.]

It still doesn't feel right, moving out I mean. It's almost like I'm settling in this place.

Part of me wants to, if only for the illusion of being self sufficent in this place. The other part's worried of becoming too settled and not remembering that I'm only here because I really don't have a choice.

Feels almost like a version of Stockholm syndrome.

[ He puffs a breath. ]

Yeah, sort of does, doesn't it?

Not like there's a deadline for finding a place to live, but I like to keep my options open while I can.

[She thinks a moment, looking at the screen a bit in consideration.] You want to go for drinks later on? Maybe after your shift ends?

I'd like to be able to talk with you face to face, and not with an impending mission hanging over our heads. [Because otherwise she's too distracted to get in some proper talking.]

[ That gets a laugh from him. Yeah, they mostly seem to talk when there's something more pressing going on, don't they? ]

Great..how about around 9. There's this place in Heimdal that looks nice enough: usual bar scene sort of place. [She gives the name and location.]
