Hello, Travellers. I could use some help, and I've got a few things to offer.

1.) I've been making some salves and ointments in my free time. I have ones for muscle pain, burns, and one that's a mild antibacterial for use on small cuts. If anyone is interested in them, I'd be willing to sell them for a small price. Any medics or people in Sigyn with growth who would be willing to grow me some plants would get a discount.

2.) Speaking of medics, if there are any interested in learning self-defense techniques specifically geared towards medics, please let me know. I would be happy to pass on my skills.

3.) I'm looking for a job. I'd like it if I could find one that would use my medical skills, but if that's impossible I've also got experience helping in an office.

4.) What would you say are the good points about living in the district you do? What are the not so good things?

I went to the Academy until I was twelve and when I graduated I became a genin--that's the lowest rank of ninja. We're assigned jobs and missions by the Hokage, the leader of our village.

So does everyone graduate school at 12 and go straight to work?

I'm not exactly sure what people who aren't shinobi do, but that's the way it is for anyone who's a ninja. Sometimes people even graduate younger.

I take it things are different where you come from?

I didn't do the usual schooling route, let's say that. But most people graduate around 18, from high school, and go to college or university after that if they've got the money. That's where you get training for an actual career.

That seems like a long time to be in school. What all do you learn?

Math, science, history, english, a second language sometimes, artsy shit if that's your thing, sports, there's tons. But like I said, I wasn't doing high school at that age, I got most of that from movies. There's 12 grades and I stopped at 6.

Except Xavier's, but I lost all my workable skills from there when I got here. It's probably more like your ninja academy, just for mutants.

Right. The mutant thing usually comes up, but we didn't really have time for small talk.

You got it. A jump in evolution that led to a new gene appearing in some people. Recessive, so it's rare and looks pretty much random when it pops up, but we all find out at puberty that we got it.

You'd probably call them superpowers.

We don't really use the term superpowers where I come from, but what you're describing sounds like some kekkei genkai.

Do people from the same family have the same genetic mutation? Or does "random" mean it's an unpredictable mutation?

Most mutants are actually born in human families, so I don't know if the same mutations are carried in the blood.

But it's stuff like you get here, just stronger and not controlled by anyone outside.

That's really interesting. I wonder how it works, genetics-wise.

But if it's a new thing in your world, I'm guessing that you don't really have an answer to that, do you?

New in terms of evolution's usual speed, yeah. But like I said, the gene's recessive, and there's not enough of us out there yet for mutant couples to be catching up. So it looks random because two humans with the potential for a mutant kid only happen so often.

Only part of science I ever paid attention to. But when you're a living jump in evolution, that's mostly what you learn about at mutant school anyway. That and handling your mutation.

Just a codename for some people, but most of us consider it our real name.
