video; day 406
[ sup Asgard, here's an oracle looking particularly pleased, and it's because she's ..particularly pleased with herself. or maybe just in general. it's hard to tell. but she's sitting on the floor of a bedroom ( hers? probably. but who knows. ), her bracelet being held up for a moment when the feed first clicks on before it's put on the floor in front of her. then she's kind of stretching but kind of not, leaning forward a little, pretty much just to avoid the most unflattering camera angle in the world. but she's too jittery to actually hold the camera up, so- right. anyway. ]
So I've been thinking. [ there's a pause, like she's imagining someone going 'uh oh' ] And I think what this city really, really needs is an art club. Or an art- something. Club sounds too much like high school. And that's not what I'm thinking of. Not really a class, but just a time and place where people can get together and make- stuff. Make art. There's a really great space in the Freyr district that's open to the public to use, and I've been going there just to draw and paint on my own, but I just keep thinking that it might be really cool if there was a whole group of us. And I already know there's a few people here who like art as much as I do, so I figured I'd bring it up. Because why not.
We don't even have to work on any projects together, specifically, but sometimes it's kind of nice surrounding yourself with people just creating things, right?
[ there's a pause, and she sighs a little sigh ] I know that there are a lot of really scary things going on, and I've found myself more caught up in them than I ever thought I would be. But our purpose here isn't just about fighting and sweating and bleeding to try and save the worlds, right? It's about bringing the color back.
And... Isn't that what art is for?
[ oo, so insightful, she might have practiced that one. then she's grinning again, a little mischievous ]
So... Let me know if you want in, okay? Oh, and if anybody wants a live model to paint, I've got just the man for the job. [ she's looking up past the camera now, reaching to shut it off as she does. ] Hey, Stiles-!

Oh yeah, totally see what you mean. Man, this is so much better than the floor.
no subject
My head has been full of charcoal lately. I'll color it eventually.
no subject
Whoa, whoa, wait. Is that me?
[That looked like him. It looked a lot like him. Did she doodle him for real? He tried to grab the book and pull it closer to get a better look.]
no subject
[ nnnh, he reaches for the book and she tries to slide it further than he can reach, but considering he's on top of her that's probably not going to last for long ]
I get a hold of a red pen and things happen, okay, I really like your hoodie-
But it's not a- it's just a sketch-
no subject
You know, this isn't that bad. I mean, everything you do is good, duh, but this is... pretty much me. Dad might like to see this.
no subject
no subject
You have more? Of me? Is this part of the whole ogling thing?
no subject
Yes, Stiles. It's like- you know how some people write the initials of the person they like on their Spanish notebooks or carve it into trees and or make big declarations of love over the radio at 8am when nobody actually hears it? I draw, I think about you and I draw.
[ she sighs ]
There's a dark teal sheet of paper folded up and tucked into the back cover. That one I like. I used the colors you gave me.
no subject
Wow, Rachel. This is...
This is going up on the fridge. I mean it.
[And that piece of paper was getting gently pulled straight and lifted to be set over on one of the side tables. No, Rachel, that wasn't going back in the book and it wasn't getting tucked away.]
Could you do one of my dad? Maybe of Scott?
[Because he'd love to have pictures of them up as well.]
no subject
[ it's not a no, but she hears him moving and it's not to put the drawing back in the book, and that's-
o-kay, okay, right.
she has this irrational need to just, go grab it, and her notebook, because her sketchpads are like diaries, really, in a lot of ways. the one on the green paper was just like, she found that in a stack of scrap paper at the library and decided to use it because weird colors in a sea of normal was kind of her thing, and it turned out- Stiles, which made it feel even more like dear diary, I can't stop thinking about Stiles Stilinski, than her other sketches of him already do and not only has he just seen it but he wants to hang it up on the fridge.
it just takes her a second to swallow down that feeling of exposure, almost. ]
Yeah, I could try. Like that one? Or just a drawing in general?
- You really like that one?
no subject
['In case they get taken back home and I'm left here' was sort of implied and left unsaid.]
And... I want one of you.
[He shifted, rolling onto his side to prop his head up, looking over at her with a grin.]
You can do a self portrait, can't you? Not like you don't have great material to work with...
no subject
I can try, sure. But if they get weirded out because they notice I'm staring at them when we eat dinner the next few times I'm here, I'm blaming you for it.
no subject
no subject
[ because see they have a choice in being drawn or painted, Stiles has none. nope. none at all. ]
Although I'm thinking we should invest in a camera anyway, since it sounds like you like pictures as much as I do.
no subject
[They might. But if they did, Stiles would just... be Stiles at them and get them to deal with it.]
Yeah? They have them here? And places to develop film? Or were you planning on doodling some polaroids?
no subject
[ and nnnow she'll scoot closer to him on the bed, pretty much just so she can reach for his hand and tangle their fingers together, leaving their hands curled up between them ]
One for you, one for me. We can stack them all together as we take them before they develop, and then look at them all at the same time.
no subject
No way. You have the doodles so I get the camera to make up for my lack of doodling. Then I can take pictures of you.
no subject
[ although now she's determined to draw candid pictures of him, yep ]
I am curious to see what kind of pictures you take. Of just anything in general, not just me. [ even though she is he least camera shy person ever ha ha ha ] It'll give me a chance to see things from your point of view.
no subject
[If she draws him on the toilet, they're gonna have words.]
So, basically, you're going to get a lot of pictures of your butt and...
Uh... hi.
no subject
[ nosey or distracting or asking her to stop, yeah. it's probably telling though, that she can just draw him when she's thinking about him. doesn't exactly need a reference when she can shut her eyes and picture him clearly ]
Oh, come on, you can't just take a bunch of butt pictures. Besides, you told me I wasn't allowed to take pictures of you in bed, so, you can't have a stash of up-skirt pictures either, sorry.
no subject
[Why? Because skirts were hot, and, you know, easy access. HAH.]
What if I just forget about clothes and take them of you in the shower? Or while you're changing? Ta-da? No clothes.
Besides, your butt looks good no matter what you wear.
no subject
[ scolding but not really because she's also laughing, hiding her face against the blankets. ]
There are so many things wrong with what you just said. I'm going to put a hard no on shower pictures right now.
--Changing pictures, maybe.
But only if I get to take some of you, too.
no subject
[There was a definite hopeful note in that, his look close to the puppy dog one.]
Ooh, I like that idea. Mostly. No one needs to see pictures of me, Rach. I'm sure you can, uh, doodle a representation. Just don't pull him off the page. I'd hate to have to kill myself.
no subject
[ again, not exactly put out, but like. really. really? she has this tone a lot when speaking to him, she's noticing. ]
Oh, Stiles clones. Hmmm. I don't think I want a Stiles clone. Even a forever shirtless version. ..Well.
[ now she's pretending to think it over ]
no subject
[Like, maybe now?
Except... hey. HEY.]
No clones. I will roast them and eat their carcasses. Sorry, Rach, but you're stuck with me. Just me. Uno mio.
