Now that shit’s calmed down a bit, I have a few questions. Answer if you want, don’t bother telling me why you don’t want to if that’s the case.

First is this—what year was it, before you got here, in your homeworld or universe?

Second is more of a request. I’ve tried out three pubs in this place and none of them are worth writing home about. Recommend me a good one and I’ll be grateful.

I think me my world reckoned time differently to yours, but when I was brought here it was 3021 of the Third Age of the Sun by the Common Reckoning. The powers I was granted here are not dissimilar to the skills I that I had in my own world, if weaker, perhaps, or at the least, less easy to use.

As for places of drink [ he shrugs ] - I fancy ale, myself, and find myself most often at [ name of pub in Freyr that he sings at ], where the proprietor minds not in paying in food and drink for my services.

I'd say my powers are pretty beneficial. I never need a lighter and I can turn a frost giant into a charred corpse in seconds. And, hey, I really can prevent forest fires.

Plus, you know, when you're a fox, it's pretty handy to be able to draw fire words so people can understand you and open the door so you can take a piss.

Early December of 1909 AD, by the Gregorian calendar of my particular Earth's standards. Perhaps curiously, those of my own world hail from further along. The majority arrived from the latter half of my present century, one even from the twenty-first.

Word on the wind has it that Loki district by and large boasts the finer drinking establishments, and there's a shop in Baldr with a decent selection if you'd prefer to imbibe at your own leisure. As to my own powers -- well, I suppose that it's a deal safer than carrying about matches.

If I might trade a question for a question: is magic like this known in your world?

At the risk of defensiveness, I will pre-empt any attempts to explain technological advances as magical.

No magic that I know of-- but there're scientific means for a lot of the abilities I've seen here. Telepathy, empathy. That kinda thing.

I've heard there's a flashy, well-to-do tavern of sorts called the 'Sky's Prize' in Loki's district. Never been there meself, so I couldn't say whether or not it's worth a look. If hole-in-the-wall are more yer taste, I have a few I've frequented.

In my universe we have a standardized system, between planets. But I can convert it to the Gregorian calendar easily enough, which seems to be what most people're using.

Other than that, I am confused. But I know that their worlds are on a different scale, at least. That's something.
