[By some miracle of ~~being better prepared for nonsense because she just took a trip to the land of nonsense not two hours ago~~ ~~poking at buttons incessantly and almost breaking her watch before spotting someone in the hallways operating it and copying them~~ nature, Sif has managed to turn on the recording. But 75% of the population might regret it, when they're treated to the angriest look ever.] Loki.

[You know how some people can communicate with one word things like I was gone for two hours, and you left Asgard go to the dumps, what the hell is wrong with you? Yes.] Am I to believe that in the blink of an eye you have brought so much destruction onto Asgard that we are forced to not only ask for reinforcements, but force them? What trick is this?

Show yourself, and face the consequences of your choices, as a good King would. [There is a pause.] Or is this to be my punishment... [Let's talk about traitors to the Throne, shall we? Aha mhm. Nope.] If this is the result of your reign, then all the fewer reasons to regret my choice.

[One more pause. Hold on. Wait for it. Wait. For. I-] That note was stupid.

Good, Fandral - [Before you can swoon over good and Fandral coming out of her mouth-] Did you get lost?

[So cruel. As if he had ever expected any less.] No more so than you have, it seems. Or is it that entirely on both our parts?

[It's not rudeness if she cares.]

I know exactly where I am. [Lies!] Heimdall's aim could use improvement.

[It is a cruelty he's grown to love, at least. There is no real animosity between friends, but his metaphoric feelings are on the line here, Sif. ~~No, they're really not.~~]

Would you like to enlighten the rest of us then, dear Lady? I admit, I'm still laboring under quite a bit more disbelief.

[As far as schemes go, do they really want to give Loki this much credit?]

We are in Asgard. [It's really gone to the dumps.] Of sorts.

[She...read the guide. Ugly as it is.]

[He read it. Laughed at it. And believed absolutely none of it. Or, at least, as little as he had to. Honestly, this is just...well, insulting to Asgard-proper.]

What I do not understand is how it can all have happened so quickly.

I'm more curious as to how the Allfather allowed it in the first place.

[Welp. Anytime you'd like to share, Fandral, because-]

[Fandral's expression ranges between disbelief and confusion, complete with opening his mouth to speak, stopping, closing it again. Repeat. If he did not know better, he'd say this was just a very poorly executed jest, but this isn't Sif's style. This Asgard is losing its small appeal by the minute.]

Sif, that was...quite some time ago? [He got better.]

Yes...[Slowly, patiently,] Hours count as some time, Fandral, but hardly that long. Hardly long enough for all of this to happen.

[A pause; what if what every strange person she's met in the past hour has said is the truth? How can that be, two Asgards?]

[He shakes his head, expression devoid of any markers of a jest. He is fully serious now, words marked with sharper gravity than the usual air of amusement.] True as that may be, I'm speaking of a matter of years.

[Even considering this new Asgard a mockery, it's managed to turn their memories against them as well?]

[A long, grave pause.]

How? Not hours ago we were returning Thor to Asgard together.

If I knew how, dear Lady, I would likely have a better explanation for all of this. [With a grandiose motion with his hands, of the "I love this THIS MUCH" variety.]

Unfortunately, I can only say I do not believe Loki is behind this. At least not [~~"ours?" No, too soon.~~] the one we know.

[He's still their Loki, albeit being a massive asshole, and Sif would adamantly defend him if only in the sense that "we're the only ones who get to kick him in the teeth". But more on that, eventually.

For now, she's stunned. And confused, and another few things she hasn't been in a while and doesn't like to be.]

Am I to assume you have not just arrived here as well? That what everyone says is true, and this not Asgard as we know it? Not ours?

[If he can avoid mentioning anything about Loki at present, he absolutely will. It is not something he really wants to think about, and he never thought he would have to be the one to relay the news.]

Two days ago, by my count. Not near so long as to want to believe any of this, but how can this Asgard be ours? It shares names easily enough, but aught else is questionable.

[And how else are they to explain their differently remembered timelines unless they were brought to somewhere different? Somewhere new?]

[That big a difference between their timelines makes this situation, as unbelievable as it is, more plausible. It's not so say she accepts it so easily, or just nods and adapts and says let's move on with it. Because they should not be here, if this is not their Asgard, their home, their land.

They should be back where they all belong, back and saving it from certain doom and danger at a desperate madman's hand. It makes her want to fret, that there are events Sif doesn't know of, but Fandral does. Loss of control is not something she's keen on.

How can this Asgard be theirs indeed? There is no unexplicable love in her heart for it, no sense of belonging. And not to mention,]

Heimdall would not have a house. He has no need for it. [Quietly, as if that's a safer matter to discuss than any other.]

[That brings up a wandering question of whether or not Heimdall can see them out here; if he knows about this Asgard-beyond. It seems unlikely, especially considering they've all seemingly been blindsided by this less-than-exciting revelation.]

Asgard should need none of this. It [~~had~~] has us.

[Still, despite it not being home in any sense of the word, they were called on for help. And Asgard-proper is nothing, if not a protector of the realms, even if it's less a realm and more a copycat reproduction of a particularly vivid fever dream. He cannot curse it entirely, despite the confusion, the inconvenience, and worst of all, using them as the unwilling (or was that unwitting?) solution of a favor never even asked.]

[Get ready for a rare thing, but Sif looks to Fandral for opinion and advice.]

This one has us now. If we are truly trapped here - will we fight?

As opposed to doing nothing when we're called upon to help? [Asgard-proper or not, they're sworn to protect the realms, and surely this still counts?]

[It all counts, and in spite of the hesitation that comes with being thrown head-first into such a strange situation, Sif would not be one to still her hand if the need arose. Fandral likely knows.]

Doing nothing has never been my favourite course of action. [No, she's more the type to commit treason for the sake of the realms.]

[They both are, though Fandral is often far more given to expressing the opposite. In this, however, it seems they have little choice, however foolish it may be.]

And in that, dear Lady Sif, we are agreed.
