2nd Special Operation/Text

If you don't mind me asking, when something attacks....is there any kind of group to protect the civilians and those who are otherwise unable to fight? A place they meet? I just can't imagine kids just standing unprotected....in my world, it was my job to help protect them. If there isn't something in place, I would be willing to lead a group. We'd need people who could fight as well as those who can make sure no one slips out, or to get the people ushered in. It'd be volunteer based, but....it's all I have.

[It's been bothering her. Granted, she wasn't here when the Gentlemen happened, however, it's still concerning that they're fighting with civilians left in the streets to fend for themselves. There should be something in place, if there isn't. Her place had one, albeit flawed. There should be no exception here.]

Also...if I had a type of machine here and wanted a working replica, would it be possible? I would have to pay you, of course. I would be able to fight much better with that around.

It's a harness system, with two blades attached to a trigger device that shoots the lines out for the harness. It allows people to move in the air without worrying about falling over, or needing a platform. All someone needs is something to attach the lines to.

Does that make any sense? Someone from my world has one here, but I don'r have mine.

Impressive. I can not say I have ever seen anything like it, but I have worked with harness systems before.
You said a friend has one here? Would it be possible to see it?

If not I could just try sketching it while you watch and correct any mistakes made. I imagine we could recreate it.

I think so, I'll just have to be very nice about it. [And she'll probably have to do chores for a week and a half.]

[Those words are foreign to her, but she's not going to question. As someone who came from a place where different languages are spoken, this isn't strange.]

[Haha! At least he was being polite with his foreign speak and not cursing at her. ]

Leonardo da Vinci. That would be fine. I can work on these other projects until I hear back from you. Hopefully your friend will not mind your borrowing his device for a while. I would love to see this in action!

[She smiles, and she sounds very interested.]

Si, I often create machines for others. There is not really much call for painting here anyway.
Building these things is not as difficult as it used to be. I have the drawing life power so all I really have to do is make a sketch of something in order to create it. It is not like at home where I would have actually needed to cut each piece out and shape it into place.
It is fascinating! I love finding out how different pieces form advanced worlds actually work.

Like this device of yours. I have never heard of anything quite like it. Does this mean you are a trained soldier of some kind?

Painting? You do that, too?

[She's enamored, honestly.] I couldn't do either of those things if I tried. It takes skill I don't have.

[She nods.]

Yes. In my world, I'm on something called the Survey Corps, who go outside the walls where the rest of humanity is kept to fight Titans, our enemies. Without the machine I'm talking about, it's impossible to fight them. They range from 10 meters tall to over a hundred meters tall.

When I find the time and the inspiration for it. Which can be difficult in Asgard.

[The time bit especially. There were too many distractions here!]

If you were interested it is only a matter of practicing for most.

[Walls, monsters beyond the walls, yes. This sounded to him a great deal like the city of Asgard. ]

I have not seen them myself but I have been told that there are some enemies that the people of Asgard fought before I arrived that were very tall. Your Survey Corps might be very useful here too. Are you considering starting it here?

Oh, I don't think I'd have the time here. I have to keep training and stuff.

[She shakes her head.]

I don't know...going too far might be a bad idea in a place like this.

[Understood. Time is certainly an issue!]

What do you mean too far? I hope you were not thinking of traveling too far outside of the city walls?
Many people have tried that... It is really safer to travel with a group.

That is what my job was back home, however we normally had squads of five or six. If I could get that big of a group, then I might travel outside of those walls.

I do not know how many would be willing to join a group like that, but every one here is very nice. If you asked around I know there would be several willing to travel with you whether they joined the Survey Corps or not.

We will see.

Do you want to talk to the man now? I think I could get him to talk to you.

Ah, the one with the machine you want a copy of? Si, I would!

If he is willing maybe we could arrange a time when I could see this device of his.

[Petra had told him about what she wanted to do, as of such, she'd briefly told him about Da Vinci too.

So, here he was, joining the broadcast, looking as unimpressed as ever.]

[She hopes that Levi can stand him, for the good of her and the artist.]

Per favore, just Leonardo would be fine. Mr. Da Vinci sounds too unusual.

I could take an early lunch and meet you today if you would like, or we could schedule some time later in the week if you have other plans.

[Levi really has no desire in small talk, even if it is the polite thing to do. The short stuffy man sighs as he listens to Petra and the Artist bounce back and forth with their formalities, until he's addressed himself.]

Uhuh. [A nod of his head.]

You do that, we'll meet when you're ready. I suggest it's an open and public place. Preferably near some big ass trees or some walls.

[He really doesn't mean to sound rude. Apparently Levi is the kind of man that grows on you over time? Or... Maybe he doesn't, we'll see.]

A meeting near walls and trees? That is an unusual request.

[The way he spoke you'd think he was searching for a secret meeting place, almost like one of the assassin's Leonardo was acquainted with might!]

Va bene. Maybe we could meet outside the Great Library? There is a small courtyard there with both walls and trees. Would that work?

[OOC: Action spam this here or would you rather do a log? I'm fine with either.]

It's a perfect place for the piece you're gonna be creating. I know what I', talking about.

[Not so much a secret meeting, but the less who knew about it, the better. It was more a prime location due to the nature of the equipment, that's all really.]
