I have to say that waking up here is at least a step above waking up in a dingy shed strapped to a pole. But, I don’t buy any of this.

Proactive citizenry must really have a lot of money and plans to be able to put me on this island.

[Tossing the paper onto the floor, the sound of a foot crunching it further can be heard as he reaches and brushes a hand over his eyes, huffing.]

I've been here for a couple of weeks now and I'm still not sure if I completely believe it. But as far as I can tell, the other people here are in the same situation and have been brought here against their will. And the...entities [as a (formerly) telepathic scientist, Charles has a bit of a problem with the word 'Gods'] who brought us here don't care to listen.

A moment later, though, and his expression sobers.] If you could indulge, for a moment, that everything they say in that pamphlet is true and that the gods are pulling people in from all over - you should know that there seems to be a way for other things to slip in. I don't know if it's them, or part of the war they talk about, and to be honest the existential ins and outs don't really matter when you're faced with something walking out of a nightmare. I wasn't in the city when it happened last time. But I know it happens often enough. So - forewarning.
