[When the video clicks on, Connor holds a crumpled paper in his hand as he looks at it, and then at the feed with a small rueful smirk on his lips.]

I have to say that waking up here is at least a step above waking up in a dingy shed strapped to a pole. But, I don’t buy any of this.

Is this the best you all could do with me? You can’t be afraid of unwinding me, after all it would solve a lot of problems.

Proactive citizenry must really have a lot of money and plans to be able to put me on this island.

But I guess that if you can make pork n’ be- I mean Cam, then this isn’t far-fetched at all.

[Tossing the paper onto the floor, the sound of a foot crunching it further can be heard as he reaches and brushes a hand over his eyes, huffing.]

We were so close to figuring out too. Even if I’m here you don’t have us all, oh and by the way-

[He smirks looking back at the camera.]

Nice socks.

[He turns off the feed.]

[See, most people come in shocked, afraid, or completely calm, for some absurd reason. This guy... chooses to fall back on anger.

This isn't a joke, or a game. Just look around you. Talk to people and get a feel for the place.

[ Pursed lips. ] I hardly see how socks have anything to do with this. Also, there's no one here referring to themselves as proactive citizenry.

Look, I know you're trying to help. For all I know I could already be off the deep end myself, but you really expect me to buy any of this?

I know it's hard to believe, if you don't take things seriously, you're gonna get killed. And I don't think calling anyone crazy will help you get along with 'em.

No, I can promise you I'm not. I don't know what Unwinding means just as much as you probably don't know what the Scouting Legion or Titans are.

Everything else can take a back seat until we stop that.

[She's not going to bore him with the details of humanities destruction by humanoid giant figures and having her job being going outside of a very small 'safe' zone to eradicate them.]

[He had trusted people before when he was running the graveyard. That got a lot of people killed. He sighs and covers his face with his hands.]

When Lev said I was good in a crisis I didn't think some panel of Gods would hear that and sign me up for this.

[He doesn't really feel like talking to you about unwinding. He doesn't even know you.]

Well, then for giving me the time of day.

[She's used to it. Trust is a strange thing: some cases, it gets you killed. But, for her, it's saved her life. Her distrust, however, got her on Levi's squad to begin with, so this whole trust idea is weird to her as well.]

I don't think anyone thought that way. I certainly didn't.

[Very funny, wiseass. Akihiko scowls, but manages to put a lid on his growing annoyance.]

Yeah, right. [Sigh.] You got any questions? Or are you gonna try to figure things out by yourself?

[He grimaces. He really needs to calm down and think things through.]

I didn't mean it like that. It sounds weird when you talking about giving you the time of day, almost like being back in high school or something.

[He listens to her and frowns again calming down just a bit. It's her, she's calm and it makes him feel a little better. Could he even hope this place was a little safe?]

Have you heard of anyone by the name of Lev Calder, or Risa Ward?

[She listens, and shakes her head.]

I've been here for a couple of weeks now and I'm still not sure if I completely believe it. But as far as I can tell, the other people here are in the same situation and have been brought here against their will. And the...entities [as a (formerly) telepathic scientist, Charles has a bit of a problem with the word 'Gods'] who brought us here don't care to listen.

You were brought here by a set of self-proclaimed Gods. Did the woman in the palace not explain?

[This guy is annoying him. He didn't have anything against people like this, but these were the types of people that never understood what he and others like him had been through. Straight laced. Like his little brother.]
