It is foolish to close one's eyes to reality, but by the same token, it is ridiculous to expect those who have been brought here will simply bow our necks and accept a duty imposed on us by foreign gods, questioning nothing.

I am, however, willing to admit there has been no inconsistency to be found between what we have been told, and the world we are currently in. I urge anyone who has, however, to step forward and speak. Perhaps then, if this is meant to be a silly charade, it will fall apart before too long.

I have no reason to believe this, explicitly, but the very distribution of the city and its construction implies that this kind of segregated environment is the chosen social structure in this place.

... that does make sense; this entire place is divided into equally-sized districts, and that has to reflect some sort of plan- ah.

Some of my friends are here, too, but... even though we all had the exact same jobs back home, almost all of us were assigned to different districts. So it might not be a job-based division...

Entirely different people, with entirely different abilities, dispositions and personalities, are often capable of performing the same job.

[I mean, not two captains or vice captains are remotely the same, in Soul Society, yet they all share the same core responsibilities.]

More over, an entire district cannot hope to survive with people only capable of performing a single job.

The districts can't be self-sufficient, but they might not need to be; I was under the impression that they're all interconnected, at least in part.
