[Loki feels as if he had a really, really long sleep and has been unable to properly wake up. The room he is sitting in feels as if it is his room. Thori is sleeping on his bed. There is a small pile of books in the corner of the room and the notes written about them are definitely his.

But that is odd, he is absolutely sure he has never been here. Not that he doesn’t believe in the existence of multiple Asgards (or multiple Loki’s, for that matter). This is definitely not the Asgard he knows of.

Second of all: he prefers a Starkphone over the bracelet they gave him. Starkphones came with smiley faces and small moving pictures to enhance a message. This bracelet came with...well, none of those. Allow Loki to express his disappointment.]

Such a crafty little device and such a lack of smiley faces. According to the world of online simple :-)’s and :-(‘s do not suffice anymore. And I would like to stay up-to-date in order to be able to claim a reputation of being most hip and up-to-date.

Perhaps a so-called upgrade is necessary. Wait...no, an up-grade is absolutely mandatory.

Imagine the great pout on my face.

[Loki has to think for a second before he sends out the second message. Has he really been here before? Would he know people? Would people know him?]

Dearest strangers, next to my insightful remarks about the bracelet of communication I am aware that this Asgard, Other Asgard, is in peril. Are we fighting the end of times? Ragnarok? Please enlighten me.

It must have been an act of great mischief. And I am truly able to appreciate such a thing.

Did he look in a certain way? Perhaps I can pick him out of a crowd.

Yeah, you can be sure of that. Now that I think back to it, it had Loki written all over it. [She sighs.]

I think he had white hair.

It must have been the pinnacle of mischief.

And it pleases me that I have had a partner in mischief. Now I should make it my priority to seek him out and restore what I have been forgetting.

Is it ever possible to seriously talk to you?

[She sighs and shakes her head.]

I wonder if that happens to everyone who goes home and then comes back.

Is it a serious conversation you wish? Allow me to make my most serious face. Instead of the pinnacle of mischief...behold, the pinnacle of serious.

[He puts on a serious voice to go with the serious face.]

I cannot remember being here before to begin with. I remember home and now I am here.

[She looks at Loki and smiles at him a bit. She's glad he forgot about the kissing guide, for now.]

This world is really weird... Seems cuter than it really is, I mean with the war and everything. Never know when an attack is coming...

Well, it is Asgard. The advantage we, as Norse deities, have is that we know what cycle is awaiting us.

[He does not really know the exact details.]

Balder should not get close to mistletoe. Loki should be kept away from Hod.

[Well, honestly, she doesn't know much about being a Norse deity.]

You mean like Ragnarok?

I haven't heard of any Hod here, but there's one in my world. But why shouldn't Baldr get close to the mistletoe?

[Wait...she is not aware of these old Midgardian tales? If this Asgard would work according those...]

If Balder dies, the cycle starts. Hod kills Balder. Loki manipulates Hod. Loki is mostly a very, very bad guy.

I must admit I don't know much about it. I just "awakened" as Idun a few days before coming here. But I do know it means something like the end of the world...

I know the Loki in my world is kind of a bad guy... The other gods and goddesses didn't want him around during my goddess ceremony. The Baldr I know is usually high... And apparently Hodr left his human vessel. But no one was very keen on telling me about the myths. All I know is Idun makes apples grow. And that she has to exist in my world so the other gods can exist. Constant goddess...

[Sorry for all the rambling, she's just quite confused.]

I haven't had a super awesome god-ceremony at all. All I did was touching Mjolnir while Thor held it and I knew that I was Loki, brother to Thor, god of mischief. It was an ephiphany of some sort.

Loki is mostly a very bad guy. I wish to break that cycle of very, very bad guy-ness and be...er...the person I wish to be. Not the one others tell me to be or write me to be.

Change is important.

[He thinks about her story. Another very different Asgard.]

I am a god of mischief. But I like a variety of things, really. Wouldn't it be odd if I would ask you if you would only like apples?

[He pauses...]

Trust me, it wasn't that awesome. Not fun to have a bunch of people, well gods, staring at you to see the outcome. I mean, because we didn't know which goddess I would be. Yours was way easier.

[She smiles a bit a him.]

You have my best wishes then, Loki. It's good to hear you want to break off from the bad-guy image. I agree, change is important, especially when it's for the best.

[Quite different, because they live in Midgard. Norse gods in New Zealand, in fact.]

You're right, that makes a lot of sense. I guess a bit of mischief now and then is not that bad... And well, no, I don't like only apples. I like all kinds of food.

No Balloons? No colorful decorations? No melodies and dances? If I would have a god ceremony I would demand such things. Perhaps a god ceremony is what a day of birth is to a Midgardian.

[Loki is trailing off... ]

But you haven’t been a goddess before? What have you been before someone decided you were a goddess? Or did you visit a goddess-learning facility. Perhaps a crash course ‘How to become a goddess’.

[He taps his chin and frowns a little bit, leaning forward as he does.]

I rather go for the bad boy image. No shirt, unruly hair, pants that are very, very tight around the crotch-area. Maidens seem to be fond of that.

[Loki fears to become evil above everything.]

I like other things besides mischief as well.

Nope, mostly a lot of words... And finding out I had a godly spouse... [She shakes her head.] But the goddesses did treat me to a spa before it, and even got me a new dress. And now that you mention it, it could be. Like a birthday, I mean.

[She shakes her head.] I was a common, normal human girl. And well, Ingrid, I mean Snotra, and the other goddesses were kinda guiding me through it. They weren't very good at it, though. Apparently our god spirits were stuck too long on Earth, but people stopped to believe in them, us... Even I didn't think they existed before I entered their world.

[Oh Gaia just has to giggle a bit at that.] Is there a girl you like?

Oh? What kind of things?

[Loki knows of the word ‘spa’ even though Midgardians tend to refer to another thing. One of those places where muscled men massaged the tender shoulders of women. And there was cucumber involved. And rolling around in mud.]

I see. I never thought the Norse pantheon would be into such a thing. After all, if they wish to roll themselves through soil and mud, they can just do that in front of Odin’s grand palace, you see? And cucumbers can be easily provided by the workers on the land.

[What an odd way to become part of the Norse gods. Could Midgardians become Asgardians? Loki was pretty sure that would not be possible. Titles and positions just went from father to son to their son and so forth.]

You never read of the Norse stories? The Vikings have been quite fond of them. Eventually Ragnarok ended all. That might explain your rebirth...

[Loki blinks at her question. Liking a girl?]

I do not like like her. I do like her. But it doesn’t matter. She went back to her mistress.

[Well, she had to relax for the ceremony, she was really tense with all the goddess thing, and being pressured into being Frigg... Long story, Loki.]

Well, I guess since we live on Earth, I mean, Midgard, we've gotten used to it. To be honest, I'd never seen Asgard until I got here. And apparently there's more than one version of it...

[She shakes her head.] The vikings disappeared many years ago... And anyway, they lived on the other side of the world. In New Zealand we're more familiar with the Maori gods. My mother was a Maori goddess, in fact.

[Of course, all teenagers do, Loki.]

Oh? Are you sure? Well, anyway, it's too bad she's not here...

[Loki is very interested in your long story and he is even more interested when other pantheons seem to be involved.]

Aye. There is. Apparently there are multiple Asgards and multiple Norse deities inhabiting it. The storyline seems to be the same, though. For a Loki it is always a rather depressing one.

[He pouts to emphasize the sad fates of Loki’s throughout different Asgards.]

Eons ago, even. Yet, we, their gods, are still here. It makes you wonder if we really are just their gods and not something else as well. By Odin’s beard, now I am sitting here contemplating my existence.

And what does your mother think about your current position as a Norse god?

[He shakes his head.]

I do not care about possible kisses or the act of holding hands. I care about her presence, as my friend.

She was here as well. She is gone now.

[This topic would be best discussed in person over proper drinks. Though it appears Loki wouldn't be old enough for that, so coffee or tea would haveto do.]

Yeah, maybe we should share stories about it. We'd probably learn interesting stuff from each other...

[Ok, Gaia can't really dismiss Loki as just a troublemaker.]

Honestly, I don't really know... It's really strange, isn't it?

[She shrugs.] I don't know... Some midget giant killed my real parents when I was a baby and then pretended to be my Dad until the time came for me to become a goddess.

Oh well, I never though guys and girls couldn't be friends. After all, my best mates are both boys. [Though one of them later became her boyfriend-fiancé, but that's not the point.]

I'm sorry about that.

[Oh, don't worry Loki likes drinks and interesting stories. He has been drinking mead at home.]

Perhaps it helps if we exchange more stories, yes. After all, it is quite intriguing to know of more Asgards. Was there also a Loki involved?

[And would that Loki be evil? Would that Loki wish the end of everything? Would that Loki desire change? For some reason it scares him to know that Loki is bound to become a creature of malice whatever the universe, whatever the Asgard. Whatever his place would be.]

It is quite strange. It might take a couple of days of pondering to figure this out and draw a conclusion. Maybe even a week. Or months.

Please tell me how a giant can be a midget? Would it just be a small giant? Or a tall midget? Because giants cannot be midgets. Did you never notice a different in height?

[Loki sighs.]

Apparently I have lost her twice. But I am not able to remember. It is better to lose someone once, you see?

[They told him he had not been taking it well either.]

Yes, and maybe we can figure out the gods of this Asgard.

[She nods.] According to Axl... Odin, I mean.

[And apparently the Loki from her world wasn't a very nice guy.]

I guess we won't be going home anytime soon... I've been here a few months.

Well, I never knew he was a giant... He was the size of a regular human. [She also knew a tall dwarf and a regular sized giant.]

Maybe it's better to not lose someone at all... But I guess that's unavoidable...

[Oh no, Loki.]

Frankly, I think they are quite lazy. We run around powerless and they expect us to fight their wars. As sort of a Norse goddess you do understand what this war pertains, yes?

The end of all.

The ability I have is a...well, I have become way better at motivating people to give me the things I desire. But only if I am close. And only if I am able to touch them. When a Frost Giant appears in front of you...I will not go and stroke his leg and ask him to to slay me.

[Loki has a lot of ideas about this, a lot.]

They should have told you about their giant-ness.

[He frowns briefly and shrugs.]

She returned to her mistress, she does not exist anymore. Not in the Nine Realms. Not beyond. It is something I could not avoid or stop from happening.

[Because one day Hela would tell him he has kept his promise to her. And Leah’s task would be fulfilled.]

Well, it's true we rarely see them...

[She shrugs.] Not good...

Well, you do have a point... I guess the same goes for my powers... I'm not kissing a giant to steal a bit of their energy...

[Oh dear...]

The ones home were just like... I don't know... Looked like very tall humans... I met a tall dwarf too...

Damn, that really sucks... I'm sorry...

Aye. I have never really spoken to one either. I wish they would inform us about their plans. You cannot take powers away and give back other powers. For me well...er...to be fair, I am not a master wizard or great with magicks. For me it is only a great advantage.

But there are others who possess great powers. Great destructive powers, even. Powerful magicks, supernatural abilities. It would be worth so much more.

It could also be that the gods try to contain them. To limit the powers, afraid that we might turn against them.

[Loki is musing now, a finger tapping against his chin and a serious frown on his face.]

We might have to request them to change the rules of the game. In order to prevent Ragnarok, great powers are needed.

Don’t you think?

[Regarding Leah...well, there isn’t much Loki could do.]

I could not prevent it from happening.

I spoke to Freya, but she did not have too many answers... Or well, I guess she has them, but doesn't want to share... And well, same for me, about the powers...

[Gaia nods.] That sounds likely... The gods being afraid of anyone being too powerful... But they can't keep us here forever, can they?

I think you're right... But I wonder what the gods will say to that...

[She smiles a bit.] I think none of us could have...
