Video | I stepped into an avalanche

[The man showing up on the video feed looks rather young, collected, and possibly thoughtful - but also a bit blank, as if he's very much in control of his feelings, or at least in control of which feelings to show. His left eye is covered by an eye-patch made from simple black fabric, and his fair hair is tied back from his face. He smiles rather pleasantly, even brightly, but it doesn't quite reach that one golden eye.]

You know, I've traveled to quite a few different worlds before this one, but this one... it's rather different. [That is an obvious understatement, but the smile doesn't waver.] For one thing, no world I've ever been to before has taken away my magic, not even the worlds where magic didn't exist. [He holds up a finger to his eye.] But this color means it's completely gone. Isn't that strange?

[A small shrug, as if that is really quite immaterial - and it is. He's managed almost entirely without using magic during his travels, and would have continued doing so regardless. But then again... it also means that he really can't leave.] I can't say I know much about gods, though. The only one I ever met, well, he wasn't a god at the time. He became one later, I imagine it's not the same thing.

[There is a small twitch in his smile, and then he continues in a meticulously carefree voice.] It seems like my traveling companions did't come here with me either. That's another strange thing with this world. I came here without being transported the normal way. [A moment's hesitation, then:] I would like, if you will, to hear what kind of worlds others here are from, and if there are other travelers between worlds like me.

Oh, you've traveled in time too? I've only ever done that properly once; that's when I met that aforementioned to-be-god, and kind of changed history a bit. But most of the time it's not possible to do that without... rather vast consequences. [Such as breaking every single universe.]

And mm, I see. That sounds... a little bit like what I'm used to, but traveling by Mokona is more pleasant. Is there a reason for your traveling?

Yeeaahh... Time travel is tricky, less you know what you're doing. Dangerous business. Helps if you have a Time Lord teaching you, though. I've blundered up a few times, caused a few paradoxes. --Got it all sorted though, in the end.

...Mokona? Never heard of it. [ And a beat. ] I was um. Looking for someone. Found him, actually, just before I came here.

I suppose it depends on what kind of thing you change. Some things... well, some things have larger consequences than others.

[He laughs.] Well, since you're from a world with no magic, that doesn't surprise me. But I'm glad to hear that. We were on a similar mission before I ended up here, I know it can be hard to find someone when you're traveling more or less blindly.

Sure. But it's almost impossible to tell sometimes if somethin' that seems insignificant-- well. Could mean the whole world changes.

Yeah, tell me about it. There was a big sort of ... blocker, for a while too. Sort of a bubble universe, overlaying the real one. Was a right pain t'get around for a long time.

That is true. That time when we did manage to change it for the better, the only thing that was needed was the words, "Please bury them together" said at the right time. [A small shrug.] Then again, sometimes you know you shouldn't change something, but you want to do it anyway. [Story of his life, etc, but at least Rose can probably relate to that.]

Ah, that does seem very tricky. I know that the person we're looking for is being hidden from us by someone else, but that sounds like something much more complicated. I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing, except possibly the dream universe.
