[The man showing up on the video feed looks rather young, collected, and possibly thoughtful - but also a bit blank, as if he's very much in control of his feelings, or at least in control of which feelings to show. His left eye is covered by an eye-patch made from simple black fabric, and his fair hair is tied back from his face. He smiles rather pleasantly, even brightly, but it doesn't quite reach that one golden eye.]

You know, I've traveled to quite a few different worlds before this one, but this one... it's rather different. [That is an obvious understatement, but the smile doesn't waver.] For one thing, no world I've ever been to before has taken away my magic, not even the worlds where magic didn't exist. [He holds up a finger to his eye.] But this color means it's completely gone. Isn't that strange?

[A small shrug, as if that is really quite immaterial - and it is. He's managed almost entirely without using magic during his travels, and would have continued doing so regardless. But then again... it also means that he really can't leave.] I can't say I know much about gods, though. The only one I ever met, well, he wasn't a god at the time. He became one later, I imagine it's not the same thing.

[There is a small twitch in his smile, and then he continues in a meticulously carefree voice.] It seems like my traveling companions did't come here with me either. That's another strange thing with this world. I came here without being transported the normal way. [A moment's hesitation, then:] I would like, if you will, to hear what kind of worlds others here are from, and if there are other travelers between worlds like me.

Well, my magic was in the color of my eyes, you see. The one I had left used to be blue, and I suppose this color is... mm, what I would have if I didn't have magic in the first place. [That last part is utter and complete bullshit, but his smile barely wavers.]

Magic. Well, not my own, that would be far too much work. Me and my traveling companions exchanged a price each for a creature that could carry us through dimensions.

It is not unusual to come across worlds where something like that is yet impossible.

Well, when you came to this place from where you were before, you traveled from world to another, right? That's what I mean. Travel within a world can be a vast and not easily undertaken thing, but to travel from one reality to another demands extraordinary powers, or extraordinary sacrifice.

Can I assume that what you mean with universes is the same as I mean when I say worlds? Alternate realities where you may find people from your own world living quite different lives, and perhaps not even knowing you?

Well, there's no simple answer for that. Some worlds were full of magic, others of incredible technology. Some were full of fairy tales, and others- [-full of nightmares. Ahem. Let's just edit that one out.] Well, there's no easy answer, see?

And... I'll hope for that. [Not really, but there's no way of explaining that which doesn't sound horrible.]

[He sounds sympathetic, because it's true that he rather wishes that he had the option to leave this place that his magic would've given him.]

[But the smile turns a fraction more genuine after a while, if also a bit wistful. While traveling nowadays is more like an unpleasant task that can't be avoided, he misses the simpler days when exploring had been fun.]

Oh I don't know... maybe the places you liked the most? Which are those?

Mm, yes, I did notice. I can't say I've ever been able to do these things with shadows before, though it's... rather like replacing a set of tools with a single hammer, if you know what I mean. [He makes a small noise of wry amusement.]

And it does seem like there are some more travelers here. And I don't know... its just interesting to hear about new places in general. [Translation: He is already climbing the walls out of frustration over being stuck.]
