[Unlike everyone else how’s been making plans about dressing up, Aladdin decided to just get started now, he's wearing a costume everyday of the festival. He’s in a cute little vampire costume but that’s not important right now. The bottles, jars and cooking pot in front of him certain are though.]

Hello everyone, due to recent events, I thought I might try to helping out by teaching everyone how to make runic ink. To do any sort of runes, you have to have runic ink to apply them. There is no need to worry, the recipe is fairly easy to do it just that some of the ingredients aren’t too common.

First thing you need to get is this [he picks up a rather odd looking bit of stone.]  This is a piece of petrified wood, it’s a from a rowan tree that’s been turned to stone. You can get them in log or disk form, I like getting the disk since it’s easy to break apart. Hiting one with a heavy hammer is the best way to make smaller pieces

Then you ground those small pieces into a fine powder with a mortar and pestle. You only need enough to fill a small jar like this one.
[He holds up the clear small jar filled with grey powder for all to see.] This is the hardest and longest step; so you should prepare some before you start.  Now In a bowl mixed the ground wood with two jar fulls of sweet earth. It’s the pure soil you’ll ever find, anywhere in Asgard. Just mix them together and set the bowl aside for later.

[Once this is a quick step ishe puts the cooking pot on to the stove and pours milk from a large jug into it.]

After that take a cauldron or a large cooking pot and pour in the one jug of Auðumbla’s milk. This stuff is really tasty on it’s own you can get it over in Utgard.

[He pour the milk into the empty pot making sure every drop is out of the jug before settle putting it down. Then Aladdin takes up one of the vials sitting on his work table, it’s fluid with a pure black substance. ]

The next thing is add six vials of this, Kraken ink; you don’t put them in all at once though. You pour one at a time and stir twice between pouring. The mixture should look like this in the end, like muddy brown water.

[Once he done that part, he turns on the stove and goes to grab the bowl from early pouring it into the potion as he talks.]

Now put a low flame under the pot, at this point add in the sweet earth and ground wood from earlier. Stir it potion until it the color changes to a solid gray.

[It doesn’t take long for the result to show and when it’s the right color. He picks up a jar filled with colored blobs. ]

They come in many different colors but you only need three of them but they all have to be a different color. Like the kraken ink just drop in one at time and stir twice, the potion should still be grey but it should have thin streaks of color in it as well.

[Aladdin finishes this task quickly and opens a small box to the side filled with small vials filled with clear liquid. He carefully takes one and takes off the cork.]

The last thing we add this is, blood of the moon, it’s the most dangerous and rare part of the Runic ink. Thankfully you only need one drop but any more then that and the potion will explode.

[He carefully lets one drop of the clear fluid fall into the potion. There is only moment pause before the potion suddenly begins to boil and it suddenly transform from slate grey to pearly black.]

Finally we have a fresh batch of runic ink! That’s all I have to teach you for today but I’m more than happy to answer any questions at all. I’ll have to go now, it’s time to clean, bye

That's understandable, thanks to how hectic its' been I haven't had time to properly restock the ink supple.

I thought it was a perfect time to do something like this and get started on restocking at the same time.

Right, I suppose the only difference is that you have to do it slowly enough to show everyone, but now you never have to do that again.

At least one of those, possibly both. I'll keep you in the loop, but between the last few weeks and the last time she got loose, I'm done taking chances. It's too much to ask to ahve people at risk of her every time a new moon rolls around. I can't hide in a ditch anymore.

Hmm if you talking about the ink, runes need to be draw with it to work. If you're talking about runes, with they do a wide variety of thing. From fighting to making bake goods, though they can't tap into the same powers as the gods.

Sounds like they could be useful in a place like this. I've never seen magic like that before I was pulled into this place.

That's pretty common, a lot of people have never experience magic before. Runic magic is just one of the major forms that can be found in this world.

You didn't have to, but I certainly did. The instructions for the recipe weren't clear at all about the amounts. I was brewing a bit blindly.

Sure, I just need to finish up restocking the ink and I'll be right over.

[Whenever Aladdin arrives, he’ll find Merlin on the library steps, flipping idly through a book, which he closes as soon as he spots Aladdin.]
