[ There are very few things that Rose thinks will ever surprise her anymore. She feels so utterly world weary, tired of the struggle to put things back on track. But leave it to the multiverses to throw her for a loop again.
Asgard. This was Asgard. The bracelet was on her wrist, pink hued stone embedded just as it had been last time. How long had it been? Gods, she felt as if she'd just nipped off for a snooze, and woken up out of a deadsleep. No new memories of back home, as far as she could glean. Nothing. So why had she left? Had she left? --Yes, evidently. A quick glance at the most recent posts upon the Network showed that no, it was not the same day she had last recalled. Time had definitely passed. And if that were the case- she could think of a few people who might just have been a bit up in arms about it.
She prayed to no one in particular, that everyone was still here. ]
So I think I knocked out for a while... And I'm guessin' it was more than a few hours.

Not everyday I get th'chance to get to know more than one face of yours. S'exciting.
[ And oh yes. Rose is quite aware of just how much sway over this conversation she has. That's sort of the point, you know. He's certainly not thinking about sad things and moping around anymore, is he? She's fairly decent at what she does. ]
no subject
That's...ah...going to get...interesting, isn't it?
[More like complicated and quite possibly disastrous, but Rose is a big girl who could take care of himself.]
no subject
Might do. No harm in a bit of curiosity though, I say. Completely innocent. [ Her tone is so unclear however, whether she's gibing or not. ]
no subject
He tilts his head and tries to make out what she's up to.]
So...what exactly are you curious about?
no subject
What each of you are like... What bothers you, how you take your tea, what sort've hobbies do you have- fashion sense is easy. What you're like when you're angry, sad, scared, happy, focused. What sort've quirks you've got, your favourite foods, drinks, pet peeves.
That sort've thing.
[ Nailed it. ]
no subject
[Aha! Eight grins. The advantage is back on his side.]
So what have you learned so far, Miss Tyler?
no subject
Well, it's like I said. You're all human right now, so it's a bit tricky t'get a hands on approach when you don't have the parts...
[ But hm. ]
Of you? Mm... You're a bit quieter than what I'm used to seeing. Little bit more shy, less in-your-face. Or maybe I just haven't seen you excited yet.
no subject
Well, ah, there will hopefully be a lot of time for that.
[He chuckles.]
Well, yes, I am a bit less hyperactive, I suppose. I do have my moments, but they've been fewer and farther between of late. Maybe someday soon you'll see me excited and you'll be able to tell the difference.
no subject
I wish there was somethin' around here we could go do to... Y'know. Get the blood pumping.
[ Though this time, she means it. Daily life was alright, depending on who you were spending it with ... But Cabin Fever was getting to her, even. Her saving grace might just have been the five second stint back home. ]
no subject
Down, mun. Down!Okay, he's back to blushing again.] At the top? Really?
And if only you'd shown up a day or two earlier. There was a housewarming party for a good portion of our group. They moved into one of the large houses in Thor District. A party might have helped!
I suppose, now that there are more of you showing up -- returning, in the case of yourself and Theta -- we should get that second house across the street. That could give you something to do. I'm sure Nine, Ten and Theta would love to have you close.
[As would he, but he's still a bit nervous on that. It's not his place. All teasing and innuendo aside, he keeps holding back for their sake. Last thing they all needed was him muddying the waters further.]
because this is now totallly after lots of things yay me
Mm, I saw it, actually. The TARDIS had me come over. I'm um, crashing there for a few days, since my old apartment got rented out while I was gone. Shame I missed the party, though... Mum would've loved to get in on that, her an' her parties.
Another place? ... What about you? You wouldn't wanna come shack up with us?
[ OH NO SHE LOOKS HURT-- no she doesn't. But a little put out, sure. ]
no subject
[Jack will be so proud of her.
Then she speaks again and his mouth falls open. Oh, no.]
Oh, I'm definitely coming. I just...well...
I'm not at all certain how to proceed here. This situation is a bit new to me. I've never met a future...um...
[Well, he has, but his memory was wiped of the fact, so he doesn't know.
And don't mind him, he's just finally at a loss for words. Completely and utterly.]
no subject
But oh, that response isn't quite what she was expecting. Or maybe she was; it seems fairly logical. ]
You'd think being such a time traveller that this sort of thing would be a bit more common. [ Her smile stays strong, none the less. ] I know I'd want you there- better to have the lot of us close, you know? Less chance of losing you or.. something.
Since it's .. y'know. We live on the TARDIS; she's big, huge on the inside, but we still sort of live in close quarters, yeah? S'kinda like that. Maybe it's a comfort thing, havin' you close. Any of you.
[ W e l p, she's just ... sort of, trying to explain this. ]
no subject
[He doesn't dare say "love". That was for Nine to say, and he didn't know if Nine had said it yet. Spoilers, and all.]
Yes, of course I'll be there. I suspect everyone who just arrived will be getting together in the house. You, Nine, Ten, Theta, Jack, myself, and whoever else has appeared. [He'd say Ianto as well, but he hasn't met Ianto yet.]
I'm so glad you're back, Rose.
[He gives her a gentle smile. Of course he'd be there. As awkward and possibly painful it may be, he wants to be with "family".]
...also before Nine's thread. yes.
I don't doubt that you lot care about me- really, I don't. But.. We're not- We're not together. [ She swallows, suddenly nervous. ] Not that I wouldn't like t'be, cause I definitely would. But ... I dunno. It just never happened. Too domestic for you, I think.
[ Hm. She's kind of wishing they'd gotten coffee like they'd planned to. Now would be a good time to hide her face in the cup as she drowns herself in it. --Wait, wait. What. ]
Wh-- Jack's here? Jack Harkness? [ Suddenly sitting bolt upright. ] When did he get here? How- How long's he been here?
[ And then, because she'd practically talked over top of him, her mind seems to rewind the past few seconds. ]
And-- Thanks. I've said it a million times today but. It's really nice to be back. If just to be able to see everyone.
no subject
Domestic? How ridiculous. It's not domestic to be in--
[SHUT UP, EIGHT! Oh, thank goodness for a Jack Harkness interruption.]
I only met him today, actually. Though, I suppose I'm being presumptive, just assuming he'll want to join us.
no subject
Oh I have a feeling he'll jump at the chance, don't worry. [ And here she settles in with a new grin, because oh boy, details. ] So how was it? Meeting him, I mean. What's your opinion?
no subject
Well, Theta had been telling stories once, but it's...rather...interesting to meet him in the flesh. Er, face-to-face, rather.
Let's just say it was an interesting experience to have someone who's almost a complete stranger offering to kiss me.
no subject
When is it not?]Hah! That's Jack, alright. Good ol', Captain Jack. He's a bit pretty though, isn't he? Kind of makes you want to kiss a complete stranger, if it's him.
no subject
So he's always like this, then? No wonder you two get along so well.
[He smirks at her then, and finally gets up to order coffee. A quick change of pace might pull the momentum of this conversation back in his direction.
After a moment, he returns with two cups of coffee and hands one over to her.]
Nine is going to be so ecstatic to see you, you know that? All the light just...faded from him when you left. I was a bit worried he'd pull his bracelet off and go grey.
So, I...tried to get him to talk about you. He told me how you saved his life, and how you kept meeting and kept asking questions and yelling at him.
I told him how, with all we do wrong in our lives, there are still these little bright points where we let our hearts do the deciding and we always seem to get it right.
[And he's torn again. Maybe talking about how much Nine was hurting when she disappeared wasn't a good idea. Inwardly, he curses the guilt creeping up on him. He shouldn't be sitting here, chatting and flirting with Rose Tyler. Nine should. What are you doing, man? Go home and hope Charley comes back one day, because you have no business here.
He suddenly takes great interest in the coffee cup in his hand and sips at it in silence. Stupid, selfish, greedy old man.]
