[Isaac is broadcasting from inside of a pretty wrecked looking place. The shelves around him are still in some form of disarray, water damage is soaked into the walls, and there are various animal cages laying on the ground with different sorts of pets in them- sluggish lizards in one, sneezy rats in another... all in all, the sight is kind of depressing, even if there are obvious attempts to clean it up.

He sighs.]

Right. I was hoping to not have to do this, but I think that the animals will get sick if we keep them here for much longer. Can you guys foster some of these while we're getting the store rebuilt? We can give you all the stuff you need to take care of 'em.

Oh. And- we're broke. Like, really broke. [Having over a week of no income, plus repairs, plus having to use product to keep the animals alive will do that to you.]

So... [Isaac sighs.] There are those apple things that give you money, right? Would anyone be willing to share some?

Right. [She totally knew that. The bank thing, not his name. Even if its right on the screen somewhere. Faith would be required to look for that and she's barely tech savvy enough for a microwave.]

I'll send that then. Oh-- I'm Faith. [Since he gave the name.]

A parakeet? Don't those make a lotta noise? Plus, I bet their horrible to keep clean. [birds and feathers, seed, and shit. Not good.]

I think I'm good with just the good deed.

Yeah, they're kind of annoying.

[He sighs.]

Works fine for me. The more cash we get, the faster we can rebuild.

I'm not as strong as I used to be -- this place kinda screwed me on that, but I can still help.

[He tilts his head.]

Yeah. Kinda had the whole package. Faster, stronger -- I get here and I get some new deal. Telekinesis I guess. Big deal. Float something.

At least it's something. Some people get lame stuff. Like energy transfer- they get to beef up everyone around them and don't do anything cool on their own.

[Isaac shrugs.]

It's gonna sound bad, because I guess out of context the word is scary, but I can't help it if a bunch of old dudes from back in the caveman days decided that Slayer sounded like a good thing.

...Slayer?

[He raises an eyebrow, immediately equating her with the heavy metal band. Uh.]

Yeah. Of the vampires. [She makes a stabbing gesture -- which looks either a) lewd or b) ridiculous.]

[Faith shrugs.]

I guess? I don't know. Some old guy thousands of years ago decided to give a group of girls - that whole "One in every generation" thing. I'm that girl. I get the perks and I have to do the job. But hey, vamps kill people. I'm just pulling them off necks and into dust.

[a beat] Except the ones with souls that B' has history with. Those good guy tormented type vampires.

Sounds a little melodramatic.

[He lifts an eyebrow.]

There are tormented good guy vampires?

[msattentionspan]

[Faith smirks, nodding.] I guess so, yeah.

The whole vampire with a soul thing is hard to argue against. That's the deal with him at least. Cursed and then going through whatever to make up for it. Kinda decent... except when you go through the whole killed people for more than a few decades first.

[She shrugs.] I mean, he crosses the line - I'm gonna do what I'm supposed to, but until then it's fine. Same with Oz.

[Isaac just shakes his head.]

I have no idea what you're talking about.

[msattentionspan]

[She ducks her head, shaking it a bit.]

Yeah.. sorry. I kinda rambled. Oz - back home. Werewolf. Decent guy. Dates Re-- Willow.

[Faith shrugs.] Just saying there are all kinds out there. Not all of them need to be put down.

Well that's... noble of you.

[Even when it is explained, Isaac doesn't know how to take it.]

Have you met Jo and her friends? Similar occupations.

[She gives him a look.]

Noble? I don't know, it's probably just decent. It's not a job either. It's supposed to be a gift or something.

[She hasn't met Jo or her friends - even if she'd been in her bar earlier.]

Kind of a bad gift, if you ask me.

[Not that anyone asked him, but Isaac is something of an expert on gifts that sound awesome and turn out to be the opposite of awesome.]

Yeah, if it wasn't for all the perks I'd probably be looking for the receipt.

Perks like murdering supernatural monsters?

[Eyebrow quirk.]

[She has her own eyebrow raise.]

[She frowns.] The perks being stronger, faster - they took everything and dialed it up to max. I'm the best so that I can take down things that need taking down.

Emphasis on needing. I didn't go all stake happy on Oz and Angel is still ... well, he's not alive, but he's walking around in long coats making somber faces. [and as long as he keeps that soul in tact things will stay that way.]

Chill out. I'm just saying, if it's someone's professional job to kill other people-

[He shrugs.]

-seems hard to do something like that unless you enjoy it a little.
