[There's a face that might be familiar to some people appearing onscreen. It looks a little less perky than it usually does and seems to be needing a moment before actually speaking.]

Hey. I don't know what happened, but I could swear I'd gone home for a while. But I'm back here again and... yeah.

I guess a few people missed me, judging by the messages waiting for me. I'll get to those in a bit, but I thought I'd let everyone know I'm back. Scott... I guess I'll see you when you've got some time. I hope things have been quiet and I have no idea how long I've been gone, so any heads up on that would be appreciated.

Eh heh, not really! Just thinking out loud!

Why? Is it really that bad?

[teenyoda]

It's not that it's bad, exactly. It's just... different. There's good and bad about both and I just don't want to think about the other when I'm stuck here.

[holyfight]

Because it makes you feel kinda helpless?

[teenyoda]

A little, yeah. And because I'm worried about what's happening back home.

I think time pauses back home. The first time I came here, I don't remember anything from it. So it was like my first time here when I got here this time, but everyone here remembered me.

And when Kurosaki-kun left for a month and came back, he wasn't missed, either.

[teenyoda]

Yeah, but I'm being told I've been here before and I don't remember that. And there were two Isaac's here a while ago. So... I have no idea what's going on. Time didn't stop for them or us if there was someone coming to us from the future. And it wasn't a good future, so I kind of have every right to worry.

[holyfight]

That happened to me, too! The leaving and coming back and not remembering! Were you in a different house when you came back, too?

I don't have too much experience there... I think I was from a bit in the future from Kurosaki-kun, but it wasn't very far...

[teenyoda]

I... don't know. Maybe?

So that just makes me wonder how they're doing this or what's actually going on at home.

[holyfight]

I guess it's just because they're gods. They can do things like that, right?

[teenyoda]

They shouldn't just because they can. That's a crappy reason.

[holyfight]

That's how they are in all the folktales, though, isn't it? Doing things just because they can?

[teenyoda]

Yeah, pretty much. And there's a decided lack of craps to give about anyone mortal.

Eh heh, I've noticed that. They don't seem to care much about us, do they?

[teenyoda]

Doesn't seem like it. They weren't exactly out and present when the whole ice giant crap went down.

[holyfight]

Uhn. From what I've heard from people who've been here longer than me, they've always kind of been like that. You don't usually see them fighting.

[teenyoda]

So we're what, cannon fodder? Seems a little counter productive to me.

[holyfight]

Mmm. Although I think we're more like fighting hostages, where we have to fight for them because our worlds will end otherwise.

[teenyoda]

We're pawns in a game; expendable and on the front line. Doesn't really make me feel all the warm fuzzies of comfort.

[holyfight]

Oh! I think that's a better analogy!

But in that case, do you think if we make it to the other side of the board we'll become Queens?

[teenyoda]

That'd be chess and it'd be kings, and I'm going to vote 'no'. Pretty sure if we make it to the other side of the board, they'll just kick our ass and send us all the way back to the start, like a rigged Snakes N' Ladders game.

[holyfight]

No, it's definitely Queens! If you didn't have a King on the board, you'd already have lost!

Right, but... there are pawns in chess?

[teenyoda]

Yes. And maybe in checkers. I don't know what the pieces are called.
