Looks like the one person I had from home went back. I can't seem to reach her on her bracelet, at least. Or find her in her housing. I haven't been here that long myself but from what I gather, that's what I assume has happened.

I need a drink. All this fighting and everything has been frakking crazy. Anyone wants me, I'll be at the pub.

I guess they do. Probably just one of the differences with languages.

Seems the little translation things do not work on everything.

It is strange, though, how we can all speak a common language?

Who knows. I don't know how it all works. Maybe one of the gods as the patience to explain it or one of the other Travelers might be able to answer that. I don't care, so long as I can understand everyone.

I am grateful for it as well, in truth. Though you do have to think how interesting it would be to have a bit of...diversity?

A friend said he would teach me something called Italian.

It could be interesting. I suppose some of us might likely still be able to understand each other all the same, depending where we are from perhaps.

It's the language, from where he's from--he tends to pepper a great many of our conversations with it. Thought it might be interesting to learn what it means, without needing his translations.

I'm not much of a scholar, though.

Ah. I guess it could be interesting. Never been too much of a scholar myself though. I mean, I've read the scriptures, some novels. But I'm more of a hands on person, not an academic type. I leave that to the likes of Baltar. Hopefully you'll enjoy it though.

I suppose that's something. Main thing I have to occupy myself is to keep training.

They're these machines we built to make life easier for us on the colonies. But they rebelled, and we're at war with them. In a nutshell.

You asked. But that was part of the reason I hadn't mentioned them to you before. I wasn't sure if you would understand what I'm talking about, since you don't seem to have anything like them back home.

You have those 'robots', we have dragons. I suppose there will always be things we don't understand of each other's homes.

I guess so. But that's not really surprising given how different things seem in comparison with different worlds and times. Different doesn't mean better or worse, just...different.

Agreed. And dragons are to us, what robots are to you, I suppose. Dangerous things.
