Looks like the one person I had from home went back. I can't seem to reach her on her bracelet, at least. Or find her in her housing. I haven't been here that long myself but from what I gather, that's what I assume has happened.

I need a drink. All this fighting and everything has been frakking crazy. Anyone wants me, I'll be at the pub.

[He comes in, looking around - of course, they haven't met before. Inigo has no idea who he's looking for. But hey, put a smile on and pretend you know what you're doing! Inigo walks toward the bar with confidence, smiling at every girl he sees. One of them must be her. This is totally not awkward.]

[Kara raises an eyebrow, seeming more amused at the boy's antics. He obviously has no clue which woman here is the right one, assuming this is the one she was talking to earlier. She ponders for a moment perhaps letting him sweat it out, but decides a drink is more important.]

Hey. I'm Kara. Though I'm not sure I'd call myself a maiden.

[Whew, saved. Not that there weren't a few other pretty girls in here, but it would've been pretty awful even for Inigo to forget about the reason he came.]

All lovely lasses are maidens in their own way! Pleased to meet you, Kara, I'm Inigo.

Lovely lasses? I'm a military brat and me in a dress is a once in a lifetime thing, really. But sure, there are probably other much more...girly girls out there than me. Inigo is an...interesting name.

[But then, others probably think the same of her name, given people were from all over and all manner of different times.]

Most of the girls I know are warriors too - ah, well, except the villagers. There's just something about a woman who can split a man's skull with her sword... [that TERRIFIES HIM COMPLETELY especially since he's often obnoxious enough to have it pointed his way. But hey, it's kind of cool too.]

Kara's an interesting name too. Does it mean something?

Well, I don't know about a sword, but I know I can out-shoot most guys back home, if that counts.

[But yes, Kara can certainly hold her own in a fight, as likely evidenced by the fact she is military and obviously works out, even if she drinks most of her calories.]

I think it's 'pure' or something. If I recall rightly. Though not too many call me that back home, it's usually my callsign; Starbuck. Sort of like a codename as a pilot.

Out-shoot? Like an archer?

[Guns don't exist in Inigo's world, and certainly nothing more advanced. He's still got a lot to learn.]

Kara's beautiful, though! But Starbuck has a nice ring to it, too. Like something out of a poem!

Not with a bow and arrow, with a gun. But similar concept in terms of shooting for a target.

[She is used to people not quite getting the gun or pilot concept, really.]

You think so? I can't really even really recall quite how they came up with it, but it was after I was sent to the brig one time. I guess the 'buck' could have come from my constant disobedience, bucking authority of the superiors, as it were.

A gun?

[He would ask what that is, but there are more important things to do right now, like flirt obnoxiously.]

Ah, I see! A fiery lass, spunky and rebellious! That kind of girl can be beautiful too, you know.

Yes. A gun. I have one with me most of the time, if you don't know what one is.

[That elicits a laugh from her, resting her cheek on a palm, elbow on the counter as she raises an eyebrow.]

So, basically you think any and all girls or women are beautiful?

[Kara knows of such people. Thankfully for him though, she seems more amused than offended by this. She's not the most faithful either, never has been when it comes to commitment.]

Well, not any. I do have standards!

[They're just very... loose, that's all.]

So what's a gun, then? Some kind of ladies' weapon?

Ah. Of course you do.

[She shrugs.]

It's either a man or women's weapon.

[She produces the gun from her holster at her hip briefly for him to get a look at, but not enough to potentially alarm anyone around, given they are in public.]

[He peers at it.]

Huh. We haven't got anything like that where I'm from, just bows and arrows and that sort of thing. Do other people have them here?

I imagine I'm likely not the only one. There is probably a range of different weapons people are used to from various places and times.

[She shrugs, pocketing the gun again before taking another sip.]

Seems a lot of people are used to a bow and arrow.

Ah, but with such a small weapon, you don't need to work out and ruin your slender maidenly figure at all!

You think I don't? I'm in the military back home, so I need to stay fit. Especially as a pilot. As handy as a gun is, you still need to be prepared.

[Though she seems more amused by his observation, not particularly considering herself much of a maiden at all. Even her body is somewhat toned, showing while she works out she clearly drinks most of her calories.]

Hmm, I see.

[And he takes that opportunity to totally check her out.]

You do look pretty fit, I have to admit. In all the right places!

All the right places, huh?

[She raises an eyebrow at him, obviously noting him checking her out, though she doesn't seem angry about it. More amused if anything.]

I guess it is never something I really focused on, my appearance. So long as I am fit for my job is what matters.

[He follows that with a wink. Inigo is pretty ridiculous.]

All girls like being pretty, somewhere deep down. I'm sure of it! But hey, being devoted to your job is a good trait, too.

Heh. I guess so. Not that I would know about other girls necessarily.

[She shrugs, fairly indifferent about her appearance. It's part of why her in a dress is kind of a once in a lifetime thing, really.]

And what about guys then? You like being called handsome or something like that?

Of course! Handsome, charming, dashing, likely to sweep a girl off her feet. Those are the kinds of things I hear all the time, anyway!

[He doesn't.]

You think so?

[She almost laughs at that, but thankfully covers it with a sip of her drink.]

Of course! I know so!

You get confirmation of all that from every girl you meet then?

Oh... well... not quite every girl...
