And then the audio cuts back in, mid sound-- ]

[ And the growling gives way to breathless and loud barking as Jade trees the cat. Dead air again, and the feed finally cuts. ]

No, it's refined for proper usage, but its source is still compressed animal material over a considerable length of time.

So it would seem. We had sort of advanced past that type of fuel a considerable length prior to when your species and mine met. I find it ... unpleasant to work with, but this world is very brutishly simplistic in various ways. It takes some getting used to.
