020 - Video

[Where others were likely wanting to show footage of the serious problem just developing in the center of the city, this footage is different. Instead of the ice, or the palace, the footage is showing the moon. It's a crescent moon, bright and beautiful between the clouds, but if anyone's been paying attention, it's been waning lately.

Samantha turns the feed back around so it's facing her and hefts her sickle in one hand with heavy gloves covering her hands. The look on her face, though, is nervous, bordering on fearful.]

Merlin... Fin-rot, Gio's gone, and I think we've got a serious problem if this is as bad as I think it's going to be. The last time we had something this bad happen, there was over a week of fighting. The moon's going to go new before then... and it's been a few months.

I need somewhere to meet up with whoever's putting me under, in case there's problems. The last thing we need is her getting loose if there's a real fight on our hands.

[He was going to make this private, but there's probably no point, since she already mentioned his name.]

We'll do what we can to watch her, even if there's something going on. [Merlin looks her over quickly.] Are you all right?

[Nope, and she's already regretting it being public because of Henry, but it's too late for that.]

If I know my dates, we've got just at a week. Keep that in mind, and hopefully the attack isn't going to leave this place too frozen for too long. We might need to use an in-town location though.

[She grunted and sighed, running her hands through her hair.]

I'll be honest, I'm a little freaked out. She was more insane than usual last time. She knows we're keeping that side of me locked up, and we're getting better. I'm not sure what she'll do if she gets loose this time, especially if she knows she's only got a short time to get away.

I'll be helping the healers staying close to the ice, but I should be able to get away to help you.

[His expression edges into "wary" suddenly.]

What do you mean, more insane? Was there something different about her?

You did see what I did to Eve, didn't you? She... stopped her from doing something to her by killing herself. [Don't make her say it. It's written all over her face.] She went completely nuts, tore her heart clean out of her chest using something we knew about her, along with a bunch of internal organs.

I think she knows she's losing, and she wants to hurt someone, badly, before we make it so she can't get loose ever again. I think she wants to scar someone for life.

... If this cold gets too close to Pinch, I'm giving you the footlocker. Put it somewhere nobody can get to it, period.

We'll have to keep a closer eye on everything, then. She can't use the same trick as last time, and I can bring something...maybe a sleeping gas. In case she does try to get out.

[Merlin nods grimly.]

Your item I can take care of. I'll be leaving soon, but I'm still in my apartment right now. Bring it to me and I can hide it while I'm outside.

Alright. I'll meet you shortly. Remind me. Are you in Loki, Sigyn or Thor these days? That's about as much range as I want to risk with this ice starting to grow quick. We can meet halfway otherwise, and I'll get back here to make sure nothing freezes over near the hospital.

Still in Loki, just like you. Apartment 101.

The door's open, so you can just come in when you get here.

That'll make this easily, thankfully. I should be over in about fifteen minutes. You'll know where to find me most of the time through this thing unless hell freezes over.

...literally.

Let's hope not. [He grimaces.] Just the castle and the inner parts of the city are bad enough.

[Whenever Samantha gets there, Merlin's partly kneeling on the floor, shoving the some bottles into the the last of the packs. Archimedes is nowhere to be seen, but his white dragon is curled up on his bed. She looks up and trills a warning when Samantha walks in.]

Merlin?

[She pauses inside the entranceway, looking over at him after closing the door behind her and grunting. There's a heavy footlocker in her hands and she's levelling it down slowly. Grunting and pulling back, she coughed and patted her side.]

Normally, I'd leave the armor and sickle in here too, but if there's an actual attack, I don't want to risk it. But... it's here, if you wanted to see it.

[He buttons up the pack he's working on, then stands up to face her.]

No, keep the armour and sickle with you. You're right that we might need them, even if it's just to get rid of the ice. We can hold onto them for you when we're guarding you.

Samantha? Are Eridan and I the only watchers left now?

[She nodded, sitting down on top of the footlocker to look to the side, away from him. The first was obvious enough. The other...]

Conan, Regina, Gio, Eve... they were all helpers. It's not like we're lacking for troops in the fight, but the ones who knew what I was, who trusted me enough to protect the place from it... they're gone.

You and Eridan, and the mystery watcher with my rune map. That's it.

[Merlin twists his hands together, worried. He has no intention of leaving Asgard, but it’s not really up to them, is it? Kudo probably hadn’t expected to be pulled back to his world so suddenly either.]

Have you thought about finding some more people? In case…something happens.

It's... I've considered it yeah. I don't think I expected them to disappear, and a few of those all disappeared at once. Do you know anyone who could help with this?

[His lips thin as he presses them together thoughtfully.]

We could ask Arthur, perhaps. He's as reliable as they come.

He might also know others. Do you think you could ask him for me? I'll keep an eye out for anyone else who could help.

I'll do that. Maybe Morgana as well--her power changed after she got new memories from Camelot. She might be able to help.

[He looks at Samantha, waiting for permission.]

Thanks. Either one or both would be good. We can go from there. Need to talk to her again sometime. She's... changed since when I got here.
