[He had heavily debated on if he wanted to turn on the video feed, all things considered. His head was still pretty foggy and he was struggling to grasp the fact that he had disappeared for ten full days.

No, correction. He'd blown himself up on camera and then disappeared for ten full days. Urgh. How embarrassing.

He first took the time to sift through the messages left on his bracelet, baffled by the sheer amount of information (and slightly amused/unsettled. Davesprite what is wrong with you.) Then he realized there were several responses to his original message before the disaster struck.

…he was fucked, wasn't he? Alas, he knew he couldn't keep hiding so the best method was to be as nonchalant as possible. That meant showing his face whether he wanted to or not.

When the feed flickers on anyone watching will see a boy who looks sort of like he was hit by the Knight Bus. His hair's messy, there are bags under his eyes and there's the slightest hint of a five o'clock shadow on his chin.]

…hey. [Yes, Draco. After all this time, the most you can do is say hey.] Three things.

First of all, how many of you from that large influx of people are still here?

Two, what's the state of my apothecary?

And three, I'm in desperate need of an aspirin.

…oh, and four. If the gods would just allow for a little more freedom in alchemy…[He'll just grumble to himself.] I'm not done tweaking that formula, so I don't want to hear it. We're pretending nothing happened, understand? Just so we're clear.

[Oh irony] You know the thing about destiny and being kidnapped? Destiny sort of goes out the window. And nothing's destined unless you let it be. [He thought so.] It's not that different. Love's greater than you think it is. Just because it feels like someone's stronger doesn't mean they like watching you die. That's sort of not how it works.

So's Leo, you know. It's Latin for lion. Like how draco is for dragon. [He actually remembers Latin :U]

So I've heard. About destiny going out the window, but I meant a destiny that was created here. It was a destiny I sort of was helping with and somehow it got so...[He sort of just waves his hands in the air. It's complicated.] It doesn't matter. Love and I aren't exactly "destined" to work out anyway. But I suppose you're right. I doubt anyone likes watching people die.

...[Impressive. Kid's not a total dork.] Right. Well. [He doesn't have an argument for that.] It's still only three letters. Hardly a name at all.

I'm sort of supposed to be another tragic love story to make Aphrodite happen. [He says it easily, shrugs] But you know what? I chose Annabeth on my own. Maybe you chose Jade without realizing it. If you didn't know by now, love isn't really--uh-- a destined thing. It kind of chooses you. Even without a goddess of love's help.

Dude, your name's got one letter more. That's not much different.

You actually have Aphrodite meddling in your lovelife? [Wow that's a shitty deal.] How unfortunate. [But...] ...I don't know if I'll ever truly understand how Jade and I wound up with each other. We were both in love with other people and then...we sort of realized we were dating each other instead. It feels false sometimes. And a whole lot of other things I'm not even going to go into at the moment.

Two. Draco sounds more regal than Leo, at least. That and I sort of have a thing against lions.

A-yup. She really likes getting in the way. [But if it weren't for her.. well.] Look, I'm not even going to pretend to be an expert, but does it even matter how you get together? Did you ever think you only thought you were in love? I mean-- you know it when you are. And it's kind of scary--uh, in a good way.

What, did you get a bad horoscope?

I'm not really the type to talk about all of this rubbish. You know that, right? Anyway...who knows. I guess it doesn't matter that much; Jade and I have been together since day one. It just sort of transitioned and never mind the fact that it's probably the most perplexing thing about the city. I mean you've met Jade, right? Think about it. So what, you're actually in love with Annabeth?

[And there's a very, very loud snort. Oh for gods sake, Percy.] No. And horoscopes are just a cheap form of divination anyway. Definitely not fond of that. It's more like...lions and snakes aren't exactly destined to get on with each other.

And you don't actually have to answer [It's mostly rhetorical.] That's sort of how it was with us. Yeah, we talked about cannibal dogs and destroying people in games. I don't see anything weird. [A shrug, but he doesn't hesitate.] Definitely. She's the whole reasons I'm still here.

[What it was a good question!!!] Do lions and snakes even associate? hey're like totally different sides of the food chain.

You don't have to ask in the first place. [:| The problem is that Draco likes Percy enough to bother. Alas. How does friendship work.] She's sort of a hero, too. A really awkward one, but it counts. No wonder you two get on. [A beat.] Seriously? She's just a girl, Jackson.

Back in my world I attend a school to learn wizardry. We all have to attend it for seven years, and while we're there we're sorted. Basically a singing hat looks into your brain, sees what traits you have and sticks you into one of four houses. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. They're named after the four founders of the school and each house has an animal representing it. Hufflepuffs are badgers, Ravenclaws, as you can imagine, are eagles, Gryffindors are lions and Slytherins are snakes.

I'm the snake, they're the lions. And it's unfortunately because I'm fairly certain my girlfriend might have been a lion, too. Or a bird. Not sure.

...Okay, then. So you just talk people's ears off? [It's joking, at least. But he shrugs.] Anyone can be a her, dude. [That means you, too. And oh. Well, he's not exactly invincible anymore so it doesn't matter...] She's Annabeth. There's sort of a difference. A while ago I decided it was a bright idea to take a dip in the River Styx. You know-- the river that will disinegrate you're entire being so you can't even get a chance at the Fields of Eternal Punishment? If you want to live you sort of have to find the one thing that binds you to life... [He can guess what happens there.]

[Okay so it's like camp????]

I'm not sure why it matters. If you go by cabins at camp, technically, Annabeth and I should hate each other. [...So???]

Something like that. [There's a small smirk. He used to, but now he's a little more subdued.] Not just anyone. For every hero there has to be a villain. Keep that in mind. [...wow okay that is seriously really fucked up. What the hell, Percy?] And...why did you do that in the first place? Please tell me it wasn't just to prove your undying love.

You can't honestly tell me that the two of you got on immediately when you first met.

Great. Maybe I should run while I have the chance. [He raises a brow.] That's only if you want to be the villain. Everyone has a choice. [He learned that himself. Yes, but he had to do it!!] Nah, actually, I was pretty sure I was about to die. Even head Annabeth likes to kick my butt about being that stupid. It was to become invincible-- you know, like Achilles? It was either that or let the world be destroyed, so we sort of had to try.

...Actually, she told me I drooled when I sleep and then nearly got me killed. But we didn't stay not friends for long. She's just Annabeth. [Meaning he tried and she got annoyed at him for being stupid.]

If you know what's good for you. [He's pointedly looking at something else instead.] Some of us don't get choices, really. But that's not the point. The point is...apparently it worked, though I'm surprised you didn't die on your way in and out.

[...he laughs, just a little.] Well that's all well and good for you, Jackson, but sometimes it's not that simple. [He does think it's kind of interesting though.]

I never know what's good for me. [He's caught that.] It is the point. Dude, whatever you did before doesn't matter here. And all it takes is one choice to change everything. [He's thinking about Luke.] Nah, Uncle Death Breath couldn't kill me. Not unless he wanted a war and you know, I was sort of invincible.

[Don't laugh that's rude.] Actually, I'm pretty sure it is that simple. That's like being told you're trouble and letting it define you. The whole point is to live your life for yourself, not what other people expect it to be.

I sort of got that impression. [In other words, he's sort of glad Percy's going to be stubborn and stick around at least for a little bit. There's the most casual of casual shrugs which isn't really casual at all.] It matters when it follows me here. There are some choices you don't recover from. [He can't help but snort again.] Uncle Death Breath. Right. Congratulations on your invincibility.

[Sorry too late, Draco's kind of rude.] You've never been a part of aristocratic wizarding society then. Until the war's over I don't get to live my life for myself. Instead, I have Asgard.

[He kind of let's the drop and focuses on other parts. Like that and is kind of all praetor-y, but he has been.] It only is if you make it that way. Even if it's as crazy as jumping off a building or stepping in the way of a sword, one choice can change everything. [He shrugs.] I'm not so invincible now.

[So rude.] You, sir, are a ray of sunshine. That's like me saying because I'm a Demigod I might as well stop and cry help while a monster kills me. Or when a god walks in on me showering to give me another stupid quest I drop everything and do it. Okay, so I get dressed first, but generally things explode and I like my mom too much to let the apartment to get destroyed-- If you say stuff like that, you've already lost.

Let me guess. Those are all choices that you've made? [He shrugs.] Asgard hardly counts, you know.

Thanks. [Another smirk.] I try to be as "positive" as possible. But honestly...you know, never mind. It's a little too complex to explain to someone like you.

Nope, I tend to try not to make bad decisions. And why? Because it's not permanent? Nothing's permanent. You're talking to a guy who got kicked out of almost every school he's been, too.

Try me. So far seeing outside of a little box seems to complex for you.

It means that maybe you should stop seeing all the bad. [A shrug] The world's full of it. People can be cruel. But unless you let it get to you then it doesn't have to matter.
