Hey, Travelers. [Guess who's looking much more chipper? That's right. This guy.]

Got a couple of things for you today. First, since I'm putting together a lot of information for the guide already, I thought I'd pick up one of the projects I stopped when the attacks got really bad a few months ago. I'm putting together a journal of all the combinations of house powers that people have tried already, with the results included. So why don't you all tell me what you've done before? It doesn't matter if it was successful or not. Once I'm done, I'll send it out to everyone through the bracelets, yeah?

Oh, that's right. A lot of you probably don't know who I am. [Oops, got a little ahead of himself there. Merlin laughs sheepishly.] Er--it's Merlin. My name, I mean. I guess I'm sort of the one who organises the Teacher's Council meetings around here, so if you've got questions...

[Merlin brightens suddenly.] Speaking of the meetings, we'll be having our next one in a few days. At first I wondered if I should postpone it, since we've got so many visitors in the city, but having everyone there should make things more interesting, shouldn't it? We don't know how long it'll take for the gods to fix this, so you might as well make yourselves at home in the meantime. Anyway, I'll see you all there. Anyone who wants to come is welcome to!

The stone on my bracelet's grey. If past experience is anything to go by, then as soon as the gods work out a way to fix this, we're going home.

Conan-kun? Who are you talking to -- another friend?

[A hand appears on Conan's shoulder and a high school girl crouches down to his height so that she can see the screen he's looking at. You may recognise her from an unfortunate stabbing incident.]

[At least there isn't time for Merlin to process and feel disappointed over Conan's confirmation.]

I'm Merlin. You're...Ran, right? Conan's told me about you. [Sort of.]

Mm! And I've heard a little about you from Conan-kun and Sophie-san!

[Ran recollects herself and bows deeply.]

Thank you very much for taking care of Conan-kun when he was here before, Merlin-san!

[... Conan-kun, you're not bowing. Have an elbow in the ribs to remind you of your manners.]

[Merlin blinks, then looks a little discomfited.]

It wasn't really--you don't need to thank me. Conan was fairly good about taking care of himself anyway.

[He glances at Conan for a second, then decides Ran probably doesn't know about Conan's secret.]

For someone his age.

[... thanks for that, Merlin. Conan, rubs his ribs, ducking his head in a quick bow.]

Like I was telling Ran-neechan, I had many friends looking out for me!

[You're welcome, Conan.]

Well...since you're both in the city [for now] why don't we meet somewhere? It'll be good to see you in person.

Ah-- We couldn't possibly impose--

[Ran starts to demur, but Conan buts in cheerfully.]

It's okay, Ran-neechan! It's Merlin-san's treat!

[Merlin gives Conan a Look, suppressing an amused snort for Ran's sake.]

It's my treat.

[He agrees easily enough, then adds a little maliciously:]

While we're eating, why don't you tell me all the silly, embarrassing things Conan's gotten up to in your world before?

Ah -- are you sure?

[Smiling at Merlin's words, Ran rests a hand on Conan's head, gently ruffling his hair.] Ah, Conan-kun will want to tell you his news himself! He's a good kid ... even if he does wander off where he's not supposed to and make everyone worry about him ...

Ah, Merlin-san doesn't want to hear about that!

Mm, I suppose you're right. Now if we were talking Shinichi, it'd be different! The messes that mystery-otaku gets into ... geez. We'd be talking all day!

Oh yes, very sure.

[He smirks at Conan when Ran isn't looking.]

Shinichi, huh? Sounds like there's a lot to be discussed on that end.

[Merlin, stop. What are you doing?]

[Ran laughs, totally unaware of the look of alarm followed by long-suffering endurance that settles on Conan's face.] Mm ... that geek! There's the time we were kids and he made me sneak into school to investigate a ghost ... the time he thought he'd found a missing person's case but it was a cat ... Ah, and then there was the time in Junior High School he sabotaged the chemistry classroom and snuck out to gather information for a case! Mou ... I barely saw him that entire week and in the end, he wasn't even needed as a witness! Come to think of it, he still hasn't apologized for that one ...

[Hey you started it.]

All right, I get it. [Merlin just looks amused.] Maybe you should save a few or you'll run out by the time we actually meet.

[Ran laughs.] No chance of that! I've known Shinichi since he was even younger than Conan-kun ...

[Conan takes advantage of her momentary bout of nostalgia.] We'll see you then, Merlin-san!

[And he's going to lean over and end the feed before Ran can realize they didn't set a place.]

Think you can meet up without your friend coming along?

Working on it. If I can get away by myself, where should I find you?

[Loki? Why on earth is Merlin in Loki -- oh, hey, Ran's coming over, better hide this thing.]
