Hey, Travelers. [Guess who's looking much more chipper? That's right. This guy.]

Got a couple of things for you today. First, since I'm putting together a lot of information for the guide already, I thought I'd pick up one of the projects I stopped when the attacks got really bad a few months ago. I'm putting together a journal of all the combinations of house powers that people have tried already, with the results included. So why don't you all tell me what you've done before? It doesn't matter if it was successful or not. Once I'm done, I'll send it out to everyone through the bracelets, yeah?

Oh, that's right. A lot of you probably don't know who I am. [Oops, got a little ahead of himself there. Merlin laughs sheepishly.] Er--it's Merlin. My name, I mean. I guess I'm sort of the one who organises the Teacher's Council meetings around here, so if you've got questions...

[Merlin brightens suddenly.] Speaking of the meetings, we'll be having our next one in a few days. At first I wondered if I should postpone it, since we've got so many visitors in the city, but having everyone there should make things more interesting, shouldn't it? We don't know how long it'll take for the gods to fix this, so you might as well make yourselves at home in the meantime. Anyway, I'll see you all there. Anyone who wants to come is welcome to!

Good thinking, Samantha. I didn't even consider testing the limits.

The big one is that, as far as I know, I still need line of sight to start control, even with that surge. I'm not sure if that's completely true. I had a day, and understandably none of the travelers came to test it out.

However, I'll say that the power I had was ... considerable. I was controlling six or more at once among the natives, with ease. As much a weapon as this kind of power could be, you know my concerns with its abuse.

Has it stayed the same level since or gone back to normal?

[If the powers are still boosted, he'll have to see what the limits of healing are...]

Back to the third tier again. I think it was a swell when Freyr came back. I doubt it was even intentional. They keep going on about how we're rebuilding the color and life in the world, and just doing that helped restart the magic.

... bringing back a god was bound to do something. But, it implies there's a remote possibility that that kind of power could exist.

You think it's possible to get that sort of power on our own? Like before?

[Merlin's not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, that would make healing even more useful. On the other, Samantha's right to be worried.]

But none of us have felt our power grow for...a long time now.

Like what we've gained already? ... I'm not sure. Maybe the more color we get back into the world, the more we re-awaken the magic, the more likely it is.

[She frowned.]

Like you said, none of us have, but we've begun doing things we never did before the last few months. It might be effecting this world. Look, I'm not sure how good an idea this is, Merlin considering my other half, but I'm one of the only body controllers at this level, if not the only one, and it's really easy for us to get a feel for how much power I have through it.

...

We need to be especially careful next new moon, but I'm going to start trying. Potions, whatever. If we can break past the barrier, there's others among us who need it. We'll just go psycho on the new moon making sure I don't get loose if I get lucky.

Maybe it's a good idea to ...ask the gods. [He hesitates a little.] We might not trust them, but I doubt they'd lie about something like power increases.

Who else needs the potion? [read: There's someone else who needs to be watched?]

There was a guy taking it just in case for a while, but he's left. He only had one incident, and I think he might have been cursed into it. For the moment, I'm the only one. I don't know that we've got anyone else with the right kind of imbalance that the tea will help, but I'll let you know if anyone comes in.

As for the rest, alright. But this becomes a question of who we go to. It's nothing personal if he's listening in, but I've got concerns talking to Loki about this. Telepathy ... bothers me. My head's not a nice place, and I don't want it toyed with.

That leaves, of the magical sorts, Odin and Hel, maybe Sigyn and Freyr would probably help if he could, though I don't know how much he knows. If you'll go to one of those, I'll go to another.

[Merlin just nods to show that he’s got the memo on the potions, then goes on to consider their other options.]

Let’s just make it easier and go to our house’s patron gods. You talk to Hel, I talk to Sigyn. How’s that sound?

... I'll be civil. Promise. [She grumbled.] I need to at least try to talk to her at some point.
