[Castiel is all business, as usual, in turning on the feed; he's broadcasting from his nice home in Freyr district, not actually at work at the moment, and he has his serious face on ~~not that that's different from usual.~~ His voice is even and clinical, but to those that know him well he sounds a bit more subdued than usual, lacking the normal underlying enthusiasm for the subjects he's about to discuss.]

When I was here before, I was working on a compilation of powers and detailed information on abilities, limitations, and uses for each of them at their different levels of strength. It is now outdated, but I would like to improve upon on it.

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has more information, even on entries that already contain details, and particularly on those that don't.

I am also interested in distribution of individuals among the houses. When I was here the first time, particularly in the first few days, Heimdall house vastly outmatched the others in terms of numbers. I am curious as to if that has changed, and how the balance stands now.

[So feel free to chime in with houses if you desire to share; he's curious, and collecting and analyzing the information will give him something to do. The public part of the feed ends there, as he switches to a private filter.]

[Daphne's called him out of work for the next week, so he might as well do something, and he does feel bad about not getting back to Lancelot about this. As usual, he'd gotten distracted with the drama that is his life.]

[He shows up not too long after, knocking quietly on the door.]

[Dean pries open the door a crack, checking on the other side to make sure there aren't any nasty surprises and then he pulls it all the way open and leaves it that way for the guy to come inside.]

Come on in.

[He follows Dean inside, briefly realizing how young he looks, not just physically but otherwise. He's less beaten down, and that's incredibly nice to see, even if it comes as the tradeoff for Dean not knowing who he is.]

I'm a hunter.

[He says it after a moment, as way of explanation; it's sort of true, and what he and Sam decided on as a story.]

I saved you from a demon.

[Or a lot of demons, but close enough.]

Lemme guess. You're that Cas guy that Jo and Sam keep mentioning.

[He ignores the demon thing for now, saying thanks by clapping his hand on the guy's shoulder in response.]

[That brings just the barest hint of a smile to his face, despite everything, and he manages a small nod.]

I am.

I have known you for seven years.

Yeah, Sam told me that everyone's way ahead of me when it comes to timelines.

[The frown fixed on his face makes it obvious he's not too happy about it.]

He also told me I'm not allowed to ask questions.

[Not that he listened. He was hoping this guy would spill the beans but being saved from a demon wasn't anything special.]

[Castiel isn't about to say anything more than what Sam is good with, so no luck there, Dean. But he gives a tiny shrug and settles against a table.]

You can ask questions, you may simply not receive all the answers you desire.

If you were the one ahead of us, you would be doing the same thing.

Yeah, you both keep sayin' that but I don't know how true it is.

[He's tired of the secrets and of being left out of the loop. He feels like a stranger in the company of his own friends and family and it's a pretty lousy way to think of the people closest to you.]

So, you wanna help me learn to control the charm?

[Castiel wants to say that Dean isn't the most forthcoming person in the world and he knows for a fact there are things he's hidden, at least initially--like remembering Hell--that also isn't information for this Dean to know yet. So he focuses on the second point.]

I'm not certain if I can, but if possible I will assist. Have you attempted to use it at all before?

When I first got here I thought the whole powers thing was a ploy to get people here to warm up to the gods. I still think that so I haven't gone out of my way to use the mojo I was gifted with.

You're likely not wrong.

[He doesn't trust the gods any more as a whole now than he did when he first arrived. Individually, he thinks some are telling the truth, but even powerful beings can be lied to.

He knows that more than well enough.]

Still, learning to use what you have is worthwhile.

Yeah, I got that, and using it to my advantage'll help later down the line. Since I'm smack dab in some Pagan universe I might as well get a handle on the skillset in case shit hits the fan.

Yeah, I bet. I'll go ahead and try that the next time I'm feelin' frisky.

[The chances of him charming any of the natives was slim but he had to try. As far as he was concerned he got lucky with getting charm instead of something worse.]
