I need a volunteer to test out some runes for me.

It might be dangerous, but I'm sure it won't do much.

I'll pay you and teach you some more if you want to learn.

Also the same goes for someone to teach me how to use a bow.

I'll be updating the runes book at the magic guild.

There's some you'll have to come to me to learn.

There's a difference between disguising and creating an illusion, I would think.

Creating an illusion or if you want to think a hologram, would most likely not be possible. In the past, I've tried to create an array that would create holograms from printed memories, but it failed in its test run. Most likely because there's already a god ability that creates illusions from singing.

Disguising something by altering its appearance may work, but I've never tried developing an array for that.

[And like they planned, ??? will be sitting on a bench in front of Odin's House. He's got something to occupy himself: the book of his arrays is in his hand, and he's writing more binary within the pages.]

[Dirk comes down the street, still wearing his work clothes. For the bar, as casual as it is, when he's on bar he likes to look professional. He's wearing black slacks and a long sleeve shirt, his normally wild hair a bit tamer. He rakes his hands through it, disheveling it again. He comes to a stop at ???'s side and nods.] I got off a little early, had a few things to take care of.

[Specifically the paperwork for his possible apartment. He does not trust the sea witch, the sooner he moves, the more certain he'll be he can dodge a possible strike.]

[???'s in his grey hoodie again, the one he always wears now and the one he wore when they met. Dirk's clothes get a slight raised eyebrow, but ??? simply pushes his hood back and gives a slight smile back. No Telepathy right now; he's been relying on it less recently.]

It's fine. You'll need to get your notebook so I can copy over. I'll just give you the straight translation, unless you want more binary practice.

[Dirk flips open his shoulder pack and produces a thick notebook and pen. It's meticulous with tabs sticking out listed with binary numbers of its own. He tabs to a red section and sits down.] I keep it with me to do more work on my breaks.

[Work isn't always fast or busy. During slow periods he needs something to do. When he runs out of things, that's when he writes.] I'm cool with whichever way you want to give the info.

Binary then. [He'll return to his own seat, pulling out a pen from his pocket before slipping the book out of Dirk's hands.]

No offense, but there's a few arrays in here that I'd rather not let out to everyone. People can do a lot with a bomb and a key, and that's only for starters.

[His writing flows easily and smoothly as much as writing binary can, and the arrays for Amnesia, Weapon Loyalty, and Life Detection are placed with their notes.] Do you want the experimental ones as well?

It's reasonable to keep those under a lock. Especially with some of the people in the city. [He encrypts his own notes on the experimental rune arrays he's working on. To anyone else they'd look like junk. Hail the symbology of the creatures on LOTAK. That notebook is in a box, locked up safely under his bed.]

I'll be sure to keep them from falling into the wrong hands.

Yeah, I'll take anything experimental too.

Yeah, I know at least one idiot who would love to get his hands on the Bomb array. [His expression sours for a moment. Stupid Pyro. He's just waiting for one of the districts to go up in flames again.]

Alright. [The last three go down before he flips back to one array in particular.] Weapon loyalty. Pretty useful, but it sucks if you dual-wield like I do. No one else can use it, but only one can have the array applied.

There's only one weapon I'll ever wield. [He taps the hilt of the sword that's peeking over his shoulder. He will hold onto the weapon long after death. It was left to him and he'll never part with it.]

What exactly does it do to anyone trying to touch the loyal weapon?

One became two for me, but it doesn't help that their magical properties have been stripped. They don't really feel the same anymore. [More like Roxas' problem than his own since he was programmed with Oathkeeper and Oblivion.]

More like they simply can't use the weapon. For swords, they become impossible to pick up by anyone other than who it's loyal to. For guns, they won't shoot.

That sounds more than handy. [He shifts and slides the strap of his sword sash off his shoulder, and set the weapon up against the bench. Like any blade, it has weight to it. Being the only one to use in, in a war, would be ideal.]

Which of the others worked? [Wait. Magical properties to blades. Something about that.] Hang on. Has anyone figured out how to do an array that channels their power into their weapon?

God-given powers or their original powers? Because I don't think either would work. [He taps the sword with the tips of his fingers while his other hand goes to pull out a vial of runic ink and a brush from his pocket.]

There's stun and flip-foot, which are abilities from my world, but I wouldn't count them as something I can control. I also tried making different types of arrays that could make bullets out of energy, but one didn't work and another broke the gun.

God-given. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try it. I don't even know what my original powers could do, I'm not about to risk anything I was told was highly destructive on a blind test. [He leans back on the bench and thinks about it. Yeah. Hell no on his own powers.] And I was sure our own powers would kill us if we used them?
