[ the feed clicks onto a strange girl with a green complexion, along with dog ears and a wispy tail that can be seen on the edge of the camera's vision. before speaking, she sniffles and wipes the deep green tears from her eyes; it's obvious that she's been sobbing her eyes out. ]

One of the Gods said that we were supposed to be heroes, but how can we do that? I don't understand how we can do anything when we're trapped here. None of us can use our old powers... how do they expect us to save the entire world? I couldn't do anything back where I came from, and it is the same here. It's hopeless! 

[ her voice cracks, and fresh tears begin to pearl up at the edges of her eyes. ]

I want to go back to where my friends were. Can someone help me leave?

I was supposed to help someone back in my world who was trying to be a hero as well, but they were all doomed from the start. All of my friends were killed, and I know that more people are going to die here, too!

I'm sorry that happened. But that doesn't mean the same thing will happen here.

How can you be so sure? We have no idea what to do or how we're going to do it.

I don't. [ he'll admit that much. ] But that doesn't mean we'll fail.

[dogtear]

[ another sniffle, and just a hint of a smile. ] You remind me of somebody. She was optimistic, like you.

Still... I don't see how things can get better for us. Are we just supposed to make this our new home?

[verifies]

[ he idly wonders who... but figures he wouldn't know who she meant even if she said. ]
