[ The image flicks on to a face that isn't particularly well-known, but neither is it unfamiliar to certain individuals. His face is one of bemusement as he looks directly at the screen before reaching out to try buttons. The feeds out a few seconds later when he finds the keyboard, although there's a couple more minutes before he actually types anything. ]
I don't recall being here, yet this device claims I was here for several months. Should anyone see this, speak. I'm in need of answers.
[ A pause. ] Neither do I remember how to contact select people with this bracelet or how to avoid seeing them. It would be helpful if anyone could tell me how to.
[ He ends his message there. ]
[[ ooc: And Link is back, after losing his bracelet and going grey, and then disappearing before he was finally canon updated with his memories reset. So that means he doesn't remember anyone beyond that vague, annoying feeling that he ought to. All knows was that he was apparently "here" before because he went through the network. ]]

He smiles, but it's a bit of a strained one. A little tired, maybe. ]
It's good to see you again, Link. We couldn't find you for a long time.
[ A little surprised. ] I thought you would be enjoying your newfound freedom.
It'd been over a week since anyone saw you last.
A week isn't much to be free, I suppose. [ He still misses the point. Or, he's avoiding it. ]
Oops. That made the screen tilt. Sorry. (He corrects the angle.) ]
If you lose your bracelet you'll get infected with the greyness like the natives. It can be really hard to find someone if that happens, because they just disappear and become faceless until someone brings them their bracelet back.
We thought that's what had happened to you. [ He'd been looking, even if that is technically quite futile. ]
Where are you? I'll come get you.
Maybe that did happen, maybe it did not. Unless there are no other cases of that happening with an apparent memory loss like mine. Would there be a limit to how long you stayed grey?
[ He glances over his own screen. ] Near a large library in...the Odin District.
[ A breath and he lets it out, soft and a little heavy in a tumble -- ]
I'll come get you.
Odin's where we -- were staying.
[ ...
Although-- ] Did something happen? You seem more gracious than normal.
But Allen -- blinks at that. ]
It's natural to be worried about people when they disappear, Link. [ Especially you what with being glued to Allen's side, gosh. Said as if this is the most obvious thing in the world.
... there is hearing you died, too, Link. And that apparently people say Allen's the one to do that.
But if Link didn't know before and doesn't again now Allen's certainly not going to be the one to tell him. ]
For Allen, because of
guiltconcern after his disappearance and he imagines he has a lot to catch Link up on. Why wouldn't he meet up with him; you're the only comrade he has here, Link. (And that's in a loose manner of speaking already.) But that Link is reluctant and not demanding his location...Given what Allen knows, it's a little worrisome.
But he just nods, flashing a smile even if it's a little strained. ]
I'll be right there.
[ And he will be. He's hurrying. ]
...he know Allen was here. Past entries that he has made showed him that. To approach him, though--he wasn't sure how to. It was actually a bit a relief that Allen here didn't know the recent happenings.
It was easier to pretend things were vaguely "normal". Except he has to remember what normal was for them. ] You can tell me what you've been up to here until then.
[ Sitting down on the steps. ]
These aren't as convenient to run with, Link. [ Do you want him to run into pole while he's distracted. ]
Can't it be treated more like a phone?
People don't run with phones either. [ Because they're in large wired boxes and --
YOU KNOW MOSTLY HE'S JUST BEING DIFFICULT NOW
and avoiding having this conversation over the network... ][video | private]
You are speaking right now, no?
[ QUITE DIFFICULT. ] Would you rather answer that in person? I might have even more questions then.
Sorry, what was that?
I can't seem to hear you.
[ Actually, forget it.
Allen one this one. It'll be different in person. He is mentally preparing all of the questions...
Including "Are you eating properly?" and "Are you in debt yet?" as well as "Have you been fraternising with the enemy again". ]
Don't dally, then.
[video | private -> action]
Really; Allen just doesn't like having conversations that important over the network. It feels too exposed.
So it won't be that long before he shows up at the steps to the library. No uniform, just a long coat and vest with a tie, Timcanpy tagging along over one shoulder. Longer hair tied back and yes, he looks probably as old as Link would have expected him to be back in their world; maybe a little older. And he pauses for a moment at the base of the steps to glance around for the Inspector. ]
