Now how the hell did I get so lucky to be by myself for several months only to have some of the people I like the least appear? I highly doubt this is the place to put aside our differences. Tell me it isn't just me that the gods are targeting this time.

I suppose there will never be a day where I approach the rest of you with a set of questions. Here's your selection for the day:

1.) Hypothetically, if one were to obtain a music player, what sort of music should one put on it?

2.) Not-so-hypothetically, I'm taking my next round of challenges. What sort of potions would you find the most useful in the city? [Not to mention he's working on some of his "special projects"…]

3.) Also hypothetically, if one were looking for new books to read, what sort of books should one locate in the library?

[Someone is a bit stircrazy thanks to winter just now going away, and he's also avoiding the entirety of the the sea mission to obtain information. He's assuming he's being dragged along, but that doesn't mean he has to focus solely on that.

Something of the sort. Remember how I told you about Gryffindors? He one of those.

And what, praytell, would you recommend for a hobby?

Aah, of course.

Well, what do you like to do besides potions and reading?

Things I can't do here, obviously. Quidditch. Wizard's chess. Astronomy. Those sorts of things.

What's Quidditch, and what's the difference between chess and wizard's chess? I was never patient enough to get good at chess, and then there wasn't time.

Let's start with the easiest question...wizard's chess is far more interesting than Muggle chess. Our pieces actually move and brutally destroy each other.

Quidditch though...Quidditch is the most popular sport in our world. You play it entirely on brooms and with four balls. The rules aren't that complicated...seven players, three chasers, two beaters, one seeker and one keeper. Keeper stays by the three goals to protect them and prevent the other team from sending the Quaffle through them to score points. The chasers are the ones that go after the quaffle and try to score the points in the first place. Beaters fly around with bats to protect their teammates from these other balls called bludgers which are stupidly heavy. They can also use the bats to hit bludgers toward the other team to distract them. And then there's the seeker whose whole job is to fly and avoid all of that rubbish searching for the tiniest, fastest ball in the game. The snitch. If a team's seeker caught the snitch, that team would be rewarded 150 points and the game would be over.

Our school had a team for each of the houses.

Ah, Francescu used to charm our pieces to do that to try and keep me sitting still. But it's still just chess, underneath.

Quidditch, though, sounds fascinating. What position did you play?

It's still just chess but there's something a bit more satisfying about watching them crush each other.

[He laughs, just a little bit.] Honestly, Sophie, after everything you know about me you have to ask? Obviously I played the most important position. Nobody else could have been a better seeker. [Of course what he's not saying is because he was a scrawny little shit, his father bought him his way onto the team when he was twelve, and he quit when he was sixteen. So there's that.]

True, but you can still play chess.

[that makes her laugh]

That does seem like you, yes.

Still not as satisfying.

It was for a long while before I quit.

But better than being bored. You do seem to need new hobbies, though.

You quit?

I always need new hobbies.

...yeah, I had to. It was just getting in the way.

Most of my current hobbies besides reading involve shadows, hitting things and climbing things, I'm not sure how helpful I am on that front. Possibly I could find time to hit you more often.

Ah. I think I see.

Very funny. I think I'm getting better at hand to hand combat. I've been practicing, remember?

Yeah. After my sixth year the team really went downhill.

You are getting better. Thus the need to devote more time.

From what you said, there were other things to do besides practice.

Soon enough I'll surpass you.

Ah, so you do remember. Good.

There shouldn't be a "try" in that sentence, Sophie. Have some faith in my ability.

Better than me. I listen about 60% of the time. So you can figure out the rest of the story from there.

I have a great deal of faith in you, Draco. Otherwise it would be boring.

Perhaps I should start quizzing you. And yes, I have the gist of it.

And we know how much you hate being bored.

I'm smart. I usually pass all of my tests. [He pauses though.] At least I don't have to iron out the details.

Do we? [flippant, but also a bit brittle]

I'm moderately sure I wouldn't find your memory lacking. [she pauses similarly] You're welcome.

You're not going to argue otherwise, are you? [Which can apply to everything that's been said.]

I'm not arguing anything. That would be silly of me.

There is still the problem of your hobbies, though. Or lack thereof.

I really ought to get back into the habit of practicing with my arrows. That's something, isn't it?

It is something. And a useful thing, besides. Being able to fly and shoot could be advantageous.
