video;
I wish to apologize to all those I worried. I...[he pauses as memories of his truly humiliating state flash through his mind. Swallowing quietly he continues] I seem to be myself again. I know not how I lost track of my bracelet this time, but I will keep a watchful eye to make certain to the best of my ability that it will not happen again.
[A soft smile spreads itself on his lips, despite it all]
To all my friends – I will be glad to hear from you. And my students - I would like you to contact me so that we may arrange a time for lessons to make up for my absence if you wish to have them.
To those unaware and the newcomers to Asgard - I welcome you. My name is Sir Lancelot, please feel at ease to ask any question you may have, and if you wish to learn self defense you are more than welcome to contact me for that as well, I will be glad to refer you to the right teacher if you wish to master a weapon I do not offer instructions on.

Likely more. I have been here months, and it can still surprise me.
[Not in good ways anymore, unfortunately.]
I teach the crossbow. You're welcome to observe a lesson, if you so wish. I -- cannot tell you about macramé. I know not what that is.
no subject
That's wonderful! I'll never be bored!
[As if that were the greatest thing in the world.]
It's a yarn thing. Knotting and all. I'd love to watch as soon as that knight person and I finish gathering up fleas for a flea circus. We'll have lots of them soon enough. Then I can come watch.
no subject
Of that much I can assure you.
[And up goes the eyebrow]
...by that knight person, you don't happen to mean Sir Gwaine, do you?
no subject
[Enthusiasm in spades.]
Now what did he say his name was? Lancelot? No, that's you. He told me. I know he told me before I went off to find things for the swingset. Was it Gwaine? I can't remember.
no subject
[Sorry to burst your bubble.]
Well - if he is then you are in good company, at least.
[And it won't really surprise him if it is.]
no subject
[There's a note of cheerfulness to that, a person perfectly content to be here in Asgard.]
I think it was him! He seems like a good sort. Is he one of your friends?
no subject
[And another nod with a proud smile.]
He is, a very dear friend and a very good man.
no subject
[The attention span of a gnat's is all Lancelot's.]
My family? They're not really blood family, but they are. There's the Doctor. I'm his right hand. Got cut off in a swordfight. Then there's the TARDIS and Rose. River is here too. Then there's Rory and Oswin. I don't know them well, but they're family too. I think that's it.
Then there's you and Gwaine and others.
[Theta comes off goofy and a little on the absentminded side, but if one watches his eyes via the video display, there's no stupidity there. He might be running these names past Lancelot to get his thoughts on them.]
no subject
He rarely understand what he says either, before he explains himself.]
Oh, I know the Doctor. He is a dear friend. I hope then that we may be good friends as well. [He smiles at being considered family already, he needs these sort of instant connections in his life now, after all that he lost.] My family is not by blood either, but the love is real and that is all that matters.
no subject
That's wonderful! I'm sure we will be too! Everyone needs friends, and I rather like you already. We'll have all sorts of adventures. I've heard there's a carnival in this Hel place that we'll need to explore later. The flea circus first. That will cheer up some of these grey people.
[Instant is a lot of Theta's way of being, taking whatever he can and holding onto it in a strange mix of Time Lord adopting of Companions instantly and a human's refusal to let go.]
Exactly! Oh! Can you ride a horse. I used to be able to, but I haven't for awhile. Asgard seems like a place that would have horses. Do they?
no subject
And I am fond of you as well, I will be honored to be a part of your family.
[You can't really frown around him, can you?]
I do, all knight must know how to ride. There are horses for hire here in the park, but the native horses to this world are rather different. They are...well...8 legged.
No notifs rule. Only not.
We'll have lots of outings and give him pointers on catching fleas. He and I could come watch your classes and cheer. That should work.
[Theta's thinking tends to jump about quite a bit. Conversations with him tend to cover a lot of topics. Best to get in when he takes a breath or cut him off if one wants a single conversation instead of holding three at once as his mind moves quickly.]
Eight legs? That should make them twice as fast. [pause.beat.] Or like riding a centipede. Would make trick riding much harder. [He might be considering a knight rodeo right about now.]
<33333333 /kicks notifs until they behave X-(
You'll be welcome whenever you wish.
[Lancelot is more than fine with rolling with wherever his mind takes him, best not to linger in serious conversation, those lead to sad places he has had enough of of late.]
Trick riding? I am unfamiliar with that term. But it does take some getting used to.
no subject
I'll be there lots then. You can do your classes, and I'll talk to the grey people.
[Because if there was one thing Theta could do, it was talk. It was shutting him up that was the hard part.]
Running around barrels or roping evil four legged things that give milk. Cowboy things. Much easier without armour.
[Asgard did not need all the knights running about as cowboys. Ever.]
no subject
The natives are not in the Citadel, I'm afraid.
[That would make practicing hard, if you had to avoid hitting grey people.]
Cowboy? I have never heard that term.
no subject
Oh. Well. Then I'll watch. I can do that. [And be nosy with things. Spatial relations aren't something Theta often gives thought to.]
They're people that ride horses, protect others. I saw a few programs with them and then there was this rodeo. Was there too when I was One. Took a lot of skill. You'd need a rope, a hat an a metal star. [This can only end well.]
no subject
That you are welcome to do.
[But what are you saying he doesn't understand -- ]
I can see the sense in a hat and perhaps a rope in riding horses and protecting people but what is the use of the metal star? And what is a rodeo?
no subject
[Theta gets space and Time. It's more that he's used to adjusting them as he sees fit or needs. More like the world is his own TARDIS, bigger on the inside and with a door not always leading where it's supposed to. This being a full human thing messes with him.]
[He gets lost walking to Loki House, okay?]
The metal star is the badge of office! How would they know you're a sheriff or deputy or even a marshal without it? Everyone has them. A rodeo is a big public event where all the cowboys show off what they can do. Think of a jousting tourney! Rodeos are more interesting with less chance of dying by getting knocked off your horse.
no subject
Lancelot will never judge he's amazed by every bit of technology ok.]
But I am neither of those things - I am a knight.
[And here have a sheepish smile because he just missed his first tourney on account of being grey!]
And I have yet to participate in a tourney even. If you do not knock your opponent off the horse, then what do you do?
no subject
It's basically the same thing. Keeps the peace, don't let the bad guys hurt everyone. See?
[Yeah. Because a frontier lawman was exactly like the greatest knight of Camelot. Exactly. There's a flicker of concern on Theta's part at the change in Lancelot, but his good cheer doesn't abate.]
You don't want to fall off the horse. You lose then. You race around barrels to see who is the best at staying on and the fastest. Then there was a roping of a terrible four legged beast of milk and there were other things. I'd have to ask Rose. I wonder if we can get a whole bunch of horses...
[Cows were evil and not to be mentioned.]
no subject
That is the general notion yes - but - [he frowns at the explanation] roping cows? What is the point of such a contest. If they are like knights they need not be farmers, protecting the people is how they make their living -
[He doesn't get you man.]
no subject
Yes. Those.
It's a competition! Teaches skill of riding, anticipating an enemy's motion and capture without killing. The man and horse have to work together and be able to react to anything happening.
[No one gets Theta, except for maybe the Doctor. Maybe.]
