Sixth Triskele [Text]
in former days my father and mother, abandoned me dead, lacking breath or life or being.
Then one began, a kinswoman kind, to care for and love me; covered me with her clothing, wrapped me in her raiment, with the same affection she felt for her own;
Until by the law of my life's shaping, under alien bosom I quickened with breath.
My foster mother fed me thereafter, until I grew sturdy and strengthened for flight.
Then of her dear ones, of daughters and sons, she had the fewer for what she did.
Who am I?

It is a riddle taught to me by my elders.

I think I get what the story means, but I don't know its importance.
Re: [Video]
What do you think it means?
The word I'd use... is an outcast. A child was abandoned to die but was found by another who took care of them. In the end, because they took in someone different they, too, suffered. That's how I understand it.
Re: [Video]
Yes you are very close... your answer is right and not right at the same time.
Can I ask what you mean?
Re: [Video]
[His small hands ball a little into the green fabric of his cloak]
My father would say there are two answers to this riddle, one that is the answer and one that is the lesson. You have reached the lesson but skipped the answer which is meant to be something specific...something you can find or see.
Re: [Video]
Something you can find or see? [She frowns, thinking about it.] Perhaps... well, the person is a defective human in someone's eyes? I mean that someone doesn't really see them, but decides they're a nuisance without understanding.
Re: [Video]
What I mean is, the immediate answer is something you could touch or see. Something like a tree or a stone. For example, lanterns always burning in the sky...those would be the stars. Do you understand? But the lesson is that the stars are eternal, and we humans are not.

I think so, yeah. [There's a small, sheepish laugh.] I guess I'm not very good at this.
Re: [Video]
[He shakes his head] It is not something a person is good or bad at. It is something someone learns.
[But the sheepish smile remains and she gives a weak laugh.] Then I guess that makes me pretty dumb, huh?

Yes. [A little quirk towards a smile marks the corner of his mouth] a bird that lays it's egg in another bird's nest.
It's a good riddle.
Re: [Video]
It is one of my people.

Re: [Video]
Have you seen one before?

Rebirth.

Myself.

Re: [Video]
My rebirth - or, actually, my reawakening - was not by my choice, but by Human choice. The consequences to it were, indeed, devastating, but it was still a choice Humans made.
