Regarding the, ah, the candy which is presently... everywhere--

I must admit a great deal of interest in the workings of this world, the gods and their sort of magic. I know, well, terribly little about the runic spells which seem present here-- even aside that, I've certainly heard mention of... curses. Would this be considered one of those? [ It seems... too cutesy, punching and pinching aside, and that's clear in his expression. But there's magic he doesn't understand, the books are failing him, and research is really his main hobby. ]

Having not been in Asgard for terribly long, I've not had the misfortune of experiencing one myself, as of yet. Though I've seen no shortage of... inconvenient mystical happenings, at home.

Singing is a curse? [ If he was from a bit further in canon, he'd understand. Without having yet experienced a song-inducing curse-- well, it just sounds rather silly. Like rains of candy hearts. ]

Curses vary depending on the God's imagination. In the end, they can be nearly about everything.

The candy hearts can be considered one too, I suppose.

Though this seems rather more for the sake of celebration, I'd assume.

Yes, 'curse' does seem to imply... something rather more harmful. [ Candy and hugs aren't too terribly alarming-- even if Giles is stuffy and personal-space-focused enough to be awkward about the latter. ]

Have you seen much in the way of curses out side of this place?

This is a god-curse, yes. Ones as widespread as this are fairly rare. I can only think of four before now -- we were compelled to hug each other, many Travellers found their body changed with that of another Traveller, spontaneous facial hair, and an outbreak of singing.

Good lord, that is... certainly something of a variety. [ He's encountered bodyswaps in canon, but-- spontaneous facial hair? ]

I'm not certain I find it any more reassuring on an individual level.

The individual curses are worse, in my opinion, because they last longer and their effects are potentially more debilitating.

Usually the curses only affect one person. This is more of an...event. They've done things like this before.

That's the impression I'd gotten. I don't suppose anyone knows... why, precisely? Purely for curiosity's sake. [ Because there's candy raining from the sky and apparently there was some sort of facial hair curse, one does wonder if there's any method to the madness. ]

The examples I've been given were certainly... varied. [ read: bizarre. ]

Most of the curses given to just one person are some sort of punishment. When it affects the whole city, it doesn't matter what's been happening.

[ Promise he's not creepin' on you, bro. He smiles again and dips a polite bow of his head. ]

[ Well, Fili can't exactly comment on curses-- none of the ones here, anyhow. But that's not what the young dwarf finds the most interesting. It's that this man speaks of seeing so many instances of magic can only mean one thing: a wizard did it. ]

Ah, so you know a wizard in your world as well? [ Aww yis, wizard friends. They should make a club for us, we're so cool. ] Though I can't say that our wizard is in the habit of casting inconvenient things... ah, but I'm sure yours has his merits, still.
