[The feed opens to Shun giving a small, friendly wave. He seems to be near the library, given the colors and the buildings in the background.]

Hello. My name is Shun Aonuma; I arrived here a few days ago. It’s taking some time to get used to this city. It’s a lot… denser than what I’m used to. [An understatement. There was a reason the main mode of travel in Kamisu’s 66th district was by boat.] The technology is different, too. We don’t have as many electronics where I come from.

[He pauses for a small moment, picking out his words.] The reason I’m sending this message out is to ask for help, actually. I think I’ve got the important ones figured out, but if somebody could help me with the more complicated machines, I would appreciate it. I think I’ll probably spend some time at the library for now, but if you can lend a hand, I don’t mind coming to you.

[There. That should do it. He’s about to shut off the feed before one last thing occurs to him.]

Also—my dog, Subaru, came with me. He’s well-behaved and I’m keeping him in my room at the moment, but if there are any problems just let me know. My room is in Odin’s Welcome Hall.

[And with that, he clicks the feed off.]

[As promised, Shun can be found with a stack of books beside him. Every so often he closes his eyes and sets aside the book for a moment, looking slightly strained. Even though it's just text, the violence described in some of these is... disturbing. Once he sufficiently calms himself, he opens his eyes once more to continue his reading, but it's definitely slowing the process.]

_{[Ruca spends more time in the library that anywhere else to the point that some people may think that he actually lives there.

Right now the silver-haired boy is looking for something to read when he notices Shun. He watches the boy for a short while, then approaches him. Worry can be seen on his face.]}

Is... everything okay?

[He pauses, looking up at Ruca at first with mild surprise before swapping it for a small, somewhat weary smile.]

Yes, I'm fine.

[...More or less. But he was the one who decided to look through these books, so he only had himself to blame.]

_{[Ruca doesn't seem convinced at all; a worried look never leaves his face.]}

Are you sure?

_{[He tries to guess what the problem might be.]}

...Are you... tired?

[He gives a faint shake of the head.]

I'm not tired. These stories are just a little difficult to read. But thank you for worrying.

Ah... I see.

_{[He smiles a little bit, though it might look slightly awkward.]}

If you don't mind me asking... what are they about?

Ah... Well...

[He looks a little uncomfortable now. But no point in hiding it, either.]

They're about... wars, mostly.

Wars...

_{[His expression saddens. War is such a terrible thing. He's seen three wars. One here, one on his own world and one in his past life...]}

I see.

[Whereas Shun has never even considered the possibility of trying kill somebody, much less the idea of it on a large scale. Up until the Fake Minoshiro, the whole concept of a war was so completely foreign... He didn't want to believe what he was hearing at first.]

...It's hard to read, but I don't want to ignore them, either.

...Wars are something hard to ignore... since they are everywhere.

_{[As far as he knows. He can't imagine someone who never heard about any wars at all.

Ruca gives the younger boy another concerned look.]}

But if it's hard for you to read about them... perhaps you shouldn't force yourself to read all at once? Why don't you take a break or try reading something... different?

...Maybe between Queerats, but there aren't any between people where I'm from. [And he'd only ever heard about the Queerat battles secondhand.

He shakes his head slightly.]

A break might be good. I don't think reading something else would be much better, though.

Is... that so?

_{[He sounds surprised. War was something everybody on his world was used to. Even when they were far away from the actual battlefields.]}

[He's... going to have to explain this one quite often, isn't he. And although he's stopped reading for now, this topic might not give him much reprieve...]
