[Hugo has fiddled enough and seen enough to know a little of how to use his bracelet, though not enough to text. Not like it matters much here anyway, no station inspector will be barreling down upon him with his hellhound of a dog if he be discovered, but even so he keeps the focus mostly away from his face and his head down so his shaggy bangs cover a lot of his ash-dirtied cheeks. It's habit and it allows only glimpses of his serious expression as he toys with small pieces of metal in front of him]

I need things. Gears and wires...pieces of metal. 

[He digs two dusty fingers roughly into his pocket and drops a few examples onto the table in front of him]

I don't have money, but I'll work for them if I need to. 

[He'll steal it if it comes to that. He pauses to regard a small spring]

...I can fix things.

Unless someone's using them, I guess. Stuff in the kitchen always replenishes so maybe things will reappear if you take them away. [He's heard of stranger things here.]

I've been making things since I was very small. My father taught me.
