[The video feed starts focused in close on a pale blue eye, darting from side to side as its owner attempts to discover if the feed is on. Once that’s apparently ascertained, the picture zooms back to show a face half cloaked in shadow, long pale hair covering what shadows do not. It is a man, perhaps in his mid-twenties, still fine-boned and almost delicate looking, and he is sitting in a dim room, lit only by a single candle.]

Well.

[The voice is higher than one might expect, smooth and cultured. He smiles, and it is at once amused and sharp.]

In light of what we have so recently been told, I have questions for you, my fellow Children of the Child-Worlds. I asked them of Loki, and he made me no answer, so I will ask them of you.

[His expression changes, amusement given way to curiosity, his visible eye seemingly staring straight into the viewer, unblinking. Some might find it a bit unnerving. His voice, though, is calm.]

Why do so many consider the gods liars? Have things they promised come to pass?

And if we fail, what more will be lost than what would be lost if we did nothing?

[after a few seconds, the feed cuts.]

I am by all certainty mad, my Lord, but I think not quite that much a fool.

There is a question I have, though, if you will answer it. Not about this.

When I was taken from my own world, there was an object upon my person that did not come here with me. I believe I understand why, as it is not so much an object of power as it is power with the shape of an object. I am not sure it could pass into mundanity as I have. However, it is very important, and I would fain know it will be with me once again when I return to Urulat.

[ Thor manages to somehow audibly inspect his nails. He'll answer the question - he likes this fellow - but first.. ]

What was it?

It is the dagger Godslayer, a shard of the Souma, the Eye of Uru-Alat from which the Shapers channeled the energy to create their Children. It belonged to my Lord Satoris, and he entrusted it to me. I need it to continue his work.

[[translation: it's a piece of pure earth-god power that looks like a ruby dagger. besides being pointy, its power can be channeled for all sorts of magical purposes, and the gods of his world are afraid of because it is the only thing that can kill them. satoris was one of those gods, and ushahin was one of his three generals.]]

[ Thor is playing, lazily. There's a smile in his voice that should be detectable. ]

[ushahin can tell he's being toyed with, but he sounds neither impatient nor afraid, just respectful]

I wish only to know that it will be with me when I return to Urulat.

As long as this war is won and your world remains in tact, it will be with you.

[there's an audible breath of relief.]

Then I suppose we shall have to win the war, because I know my story is not finished.
