[ As the bracelet slips onto Zelda's wrist and the color returns to her eyes, the gem bumps against her skin and activates the voice function. ]

--but I looked all ... huh? [ The half spoken sentence dies on her lips as Zelda's conscious mind returns with her color. ] Where am I? This isn't the Heimdall house.

[ A voice speaks up near Zelda, but too far away for the words to be distinguishable. She falls silent for a minute as she listens to the guard's explanation of what befell her. ]

I lost myself? [ Her tone is clearly puzzled. ] But I don't remember anything like that. The last thing I remember was going out to look for my bracelet. [ Another pause. ] Then, I've been lost for almost two weeks?! [ Panic rises sharply in Zelda's voice. ] Oh, Link and Impa must be so worried. I'd better contact them. Thank you very much for your help, sir!

[ She turns on heel and hurries toward home, lifting the bracelet as she walks. It's then that she notices that it's already transmitting. ] Oh, it was on the whole time. [ She clears her throat. ]

Link! Impa! I'm here now!

Thank you! I hope he's doing okay-- sometimes he forgets to wake up when I'm not available and my Loftwing isn't here to do it for me. [ Among numerous other worries she has about her sleepy friend. ]

You're welcome~ [That makes him laugh] I didn't know he was such a sleepy-head...although I guess I sometimes dozed off when I shouldn't have. Maybe it's a Link thing. [Who knows?] I bet he's fine though.

[ She claps her hands together, eyes lighting up. ]

Oh, would you? [ But hurriedly adds- ] --But if you're busy, I'll be fine by myself.

[Oh, no! He shakes his head, he's not busy at all! Plus, with that creeper Ghirahim wandering around, he should probably help protect you. Since, well, when bad guys come a knocking, Zelda is usually the one in trouble.] I'm not busy at all. Where are you?

He can be a real bum sometimes!--But he does mean well. [ Zelda giggles. ] Does that mean you fall asleep in class too?

Not when I was learning things...but sometimes when Niko, this old guy I stayed with, was telling all his stories, I'd fall asleep during them. They were kinda boring though. [Don't let Niko know though!]

[ Oh, and Zelda is still so blissfully ignorant about Ghirahim. How much she's missed since losing her bracelet. ]

I am... [ She draws the word out slowly as she looks around, scrutinizing her surroundings. ] ... in the Freyr district, I believe.

[He'll fill you in Zelda.

And even though he's barely been to that district, he should be able to find his way around.]

I'll be right there.

[And there he goes, off to find you! You may see him wandering around the district in search of you. It shouldn't be hard to spot him, either way.]

[He remains quiet for a moment, simply listening to Zelda speak for a few moment before a low chuckle rises from his throat.]

I knew that you would be here, Spirit Maiden.

[ She laughs. ] My father's lectures make me drowsy like that! He just goes on and on sometimes, like when I forgot to put Mia in her cage one night and she attacked Instructor Owlan when he was out for a walk. I said I was sorry, but Father wouldn't let me hear the end of it for a whole week.

Oh wow, that does sound kinda boring. [Laughs at that] Lectures are always the worst. Alfonzo, my teacher, would always lecture me on things if he thought I wasn't paying attention or doing something right. And the Lokomo's always stopped me when I was practising their songs when I did one little thing wrong. [Granted, they had a reason for it, but still!]

[ Zelda nods in affirmation and ends the transmission. ]

[ At first, she wonders if she should just stand still and wait for Link to find her. But in this dull, colorless city, it isn't hard to distinguish the Travelers from the natives, and Link's green tunic tends to stick out. ]

[ So out she sets to find a hero! ]

[ That voice. She recognizes it before she even so much as glances at the video feed. ]

[ Zelda can never mistake it, never forget it, no matter how badly she wants to. It sends a chill right down her back that spreads all the way to her fingertips. This feeling of cold is more intense than the roughest winter storm, more biting than the far northern air when it whips against a Loftwing rider's skin. ]

[ She draws in a breath, shaking visibly, struggling to compose herself against the enemy that seeks to awaken the evil Zelda has striven to defeat for countless centuries. ]

[ After a minute, she finds she can't face the video feed. Not yet. Not here, alone, having awakened from a slumber of sorts, powerless and without allies at her side. The best she can manage is to address Ghirahim with as much confidence as she can muster. ]

[ Unfortunately, her voice still wavers. ]

So, you're here.

I don't know why teachers always have to be so tough. We're doing our best! [ This is accompanied by a bit of a pout, although Zelda doesn't have nearly as much trouble with her instructors as a certain someone else she knows. ]

[ The mention of music immediately pings her interest. ] Oh, do you play an instrument? I had to learn how to play the harp for this year's Wing Ceremony and it was really tough!

I guess they think it's for the best. [Silly teachers]

Kinda! I borrowed the Spirit Flute from Zelda, the one from my time. I had to play duets with all the Lokomos all over Hyrule to help recharge the rail maps and the Spirit Tracks. Some of them were really hard, but I managed to do them all!

How lovely! I'd love to hear you play if you have your flute. Maybe we can even try a duet!

I have it still! And I'd like that. I'm only just learning, but it's kinda...peaceful, playing. [That and playing a duet would remind him of home, which is nice]

I agree. [ She nods. ] I haven't been able to practice for a long while myself, though, so I might be a little rusty.

That's okay. We can be rusty together. [He laughs at his words] It's been awhile since I've played a duet. [The Sand Sanctuary seems so long ago...and all the normal songs are simple, not as complicated]

[ She laughs too. ] That'll be fun~ [ She pauses briefly to ponder. ] I've never actually played in a duet before, just sang. It's probably not that different.

Huh...yeah, I can't imagine it'd be too different. The sound would be, but it's still music. [And that's the important thing, he thinks]
