Honestly, I don't understand how people don't love snow. It's cold, yes, but...overall, it's just very pretty, isn't it? How could you not love that?

[Well, here's a familiar face to some- Cheriour is standing on top of a snow pile, beaming and looking very proud of himself as his clock eyes tick on.]

[He tilts his head quizzically at the camera.]

But I have to say, I'm a bit confused as to what in the world some people do with it! You see, I'e been reading these books about what people do in the snow, and while some things are rather self-explanatory, others are...less so. For example, snowballs I understand, but what in the world is "snowboarding"? Is that like putting boards on snow, or...? And it seems a lot like skiing, too, by the sound of it! Except...I'm at a loss as to what skiing is, too. It sounds fun to say, though, skiing...

[A pause, before he shakes his head.]

Oh, oh, but there was something that I was very intrigued by in the books I read, and I don't really know if I did it correctly or not, but...I made a snow angel!

[And the camera pans over to show, well, this:]

Ah, I see, I see! But you say "we"...are there more of you, where you come from?

Yes! There's a whole family of us, actually. A particularly large one, at that.

I'm the third of a series -- there are three before me, and then four before them. There have been a few after my release, as well.

We also happen to have friends from other music companies, though we're not quite as close with them, but there's no animosity between us.

Oh, how nice! It really is nice, having a family...I mean, I love my family very much back home, so I am glad that you also have something similar!

My name is Luka Megurine, and I am the third installment of a series of Vocaloids. [ she pauses, waits a second so that he can process the information ] A Vocaloid is an android designed with the intent of singing; we're released into the public as professional singers.

While we're machines at our core, we're also very human-like. We can eat and sleep and do the same activities that the average person can do, though our main purpose and our specialties lie in music.

[If he had normal eyes, they would undoubtedly be widening with wonder as she continues speaking, and when she finishes, he beams happily.]

Professional singers? Oh, wow, I'd love to hear you sing sometime! I mean, I can sing too, but you're made for it, and really, I'd just really, really love to hear you!

And to have a robot made like you, so human...really, humanity is just amazing, it really is, to create marvels like you.

Perhaps we could sing together sometime -- I'd love to hear your singing voice myself. And it's always much more enjoyable to be singing with others than by myself, I find.

[ she lets out a chuckle ] Technology has certainly advanced within the past few years. Before I came here, I was undergoing some system updates...

Oh, oh, we should!! I mean, I don't really sing unless with others, singing is a communal thing among my brethren, you see! So yes, I heartily agree with that.

System updates? What kinds?

The executives were making adjustments to my voice bank. I'm starting to get a bit old, in robot years, so they thought it appropriate to fix up the flaws in my current voice and then update my PC compatibilities for their newest software release. My three predecessors have already gotten theirs, so I'm next in line.

[ a sheepish smile ] Although, it doesn't look like I'll be updated any time soon.

[Some of the words aren't familiar to him, like "PC", but Cheriour nods, understanding the general gist of it.]

I see...oh, that is sad, but your current voice isn't bad, no? Then don't fret, miss! Updates are nice, I know, but the fact that you're without an update doesn't mean you're worthless or can't do anything with what you have.

It isn't, but as someone running on a computer program, it's nice to have that "refreshed" feeling.

I understand. But...I would recommend not dwelling on it too much, miss! I mean, you're very nice the way you are, and maybe someone will arrive who will have the skills to upgrade you, you never know!

You're right, I'm just a bit of a worrier. I'm sorry to have rambled like that.

Maybe someone will arrive, but in the meantime, I'm glad to have met you so I haven't gotten much to worry about.

Oh, please miss, you don't have to apologize! It is merely the situation we find ourselves in, and I'm sure everything will tun out alright. You'll see.

It's funny that we've been able to talk so easily and we've only now just introduced ourselves.
