04; video + action for Freya

[The feed starts off with a blue-eyed lion cub wearing a silly lion grin. There is snow in his mane and all over his furry little body. For someone who's usually human, Sora is rather unperturbed about being an animal.]

This is great! This snow is perfect for snowmen and snowball fights. Hmm...

[He paws at the snow and gathers a clump perfectly sized for his paws. Packing it into a ball proves more difficult. Disappointed, he drops his almost-snowball.]

I guess I need hands... Hey, someone should come out and help me make a snowman! We'll make the biggest snowman anyone's ever seen.

[Sora shakes off snow and sneezes, then looks thoughtfully at the bracelet.]

But since it's cold and snowing, does that mean it's close to Christmas? Does this world have Christmas? I hope Santa knows I'm here. I've been really good this year, too...

[Ohhhhh boy. Even if Sora's in a good mood about it, Naminé can't being a little concerned; it's never exactly comforting to find out a friend's probably been cursed, even in a way they seem to appreciate. So,]

Are you okay--?

[... Duh, Naminé, he's playing in the snow. Pardon her reflex.]

I'm all right! How are you, Naminé? Are you staying inside?

If you're sure...! -- I'm fine. [... Er,] Actually, I'm going to out a lot today. I've got... things to do. [Pause.] But-- if you want... I can come and help you with that snowman. [~~Because she's always got time to help him out okay.~~]

Yeah, that would be great! Then I can help you with your other stuff.

All right. -- That's kind of you. [Except she probably shouldn't let him spend time on her-- but they can hash it out later.] You don't have to...! But I'll be there soon.

Okay! I'll be waiting right here.

Okay! [She goes to turn off the feed, pauses, then with a smile,]

And... Sora? I think you're right - it is about Christmastime. So... Merry Christmas. Even if Santa doesn't know where you are, thank you. For being so good.

[He's never expected to hear that from anyone. He can't sit still, he's so flustered.]

Oh, well, you're welcome, I guess. Uh, you've been good too!

[Hey, as far as she's concerned, he deserves it. He's been good to her and she knows exactly how good he is to others, too. So she smiles a warm, quiet little smile, though it weakens at that last part, and after a moment her eyes lower, but,]

... Thank you for saying so. I'll... see you soon.

[She raises her eyes again, working on strengthening that smile, and then, after a small wave, she shuts off the feed.]

[Sora waits exactly where he said he would, which is just outside the house. So far he's unaffected by the cold and the snow, even after standing outside for so long. He hopes whatever Naminé has to do doesn't involve heavy lifting. In his current state, he won't be much help. He'd be better off pulling a small sled.]

[It doesn't take her too long to get there, though when she arrives, she's got quite a large bag with her. Oops? The load could theoretically be split, but still. She brightens - not that there was far to go - when she sees him, raising a hand to wave before quickly returning it to holding the bag.]

Sora...! -- You haven't been out here the whole time, have you?

[Moving toward her is no hassle; he's already worked out how to move around in snow with four feet. Sora gives her a big toothy smile.]

It's not that bad. I like snow. Hey!

[He looks up at the big bag she's carrying. It looks really heavy, especially from his point of view.]

What's all this? Are you making deliveries?

Hee...! I suppose you would, wouldn't you.

[Silly Sora - not that she can blame him, because she has found she's quite fond of it, herself. The bag is indeed pretty heavy for someone like her, but she is nothing if not determined.]

Mmhm! I have one for you, too.

[Give her a second to set the bag down and dig arou-- wait.]

... I'm... not sure how easy it'll be for you to open right now.

[... But she'll still fish around for it, anyway.]

[Oh no, Naminé, don't spoil the boy! Sora loves getting presents. He can hardly contain his joy.]

Don't worry, I can get it open! Just watch.

[His teeth may be cub-sized but they can still do damage, and he has some awesome claws for his stature.]

[Hey, she hasn't had the chance to before. Let her spoil him a LITTLE bit--]

If you're sure...! It'll be fun watching, too, I think.

[Whether he succeeds or not, it doesn't really matter. She finds the present she's looking for and lifts it out of the back, pausing a moment before gently setting it down where he can get to it. ... Good thing it's in a proper box, considering what some of the contents are. It's actually fairly big.]

[The box is bigger than he anticipated, but it's nothing he can't handle. After all, he's Sora. There is no present he can't open!]

All right, here I go!

[He leaps for the top and sinks his claws into the box, then drags them down. Since he's on the small side, it takes him a while before he can tear a way inside.]

What is it?

You'll see. Just-- keep an eye on the claws, okay?

[Because settled toward the top of the box is a drawing of him and his friends, done in colored pencil and clearly drawn by Naminé herself. Under that is a very cozy looking scarf (carefully matched to what she knows of his color preferences - and she does know a lot) and under that is a brand new skateboard.]

Merry Christmas, Sora.

[Since the fur on his paws is wet, he avoids touching the drawing. Instead he hovers over and admires it with wide eyes.]

Whoa...

[Sort of flopped over the side of the box, Sora reaches in with both paws and pulls out the scarf. He's careful not to knock the drawing out while he does. While it's impossible to tie it around his neck, he hangs it around himself anyway.

The skateboard is long and it would be too awkward for Sora to lift it. That doesn't mean he can't stare in awe and touch it around the drawing. He lifts his head and looks to Naminé with wide eyes.]

You got this stuff for me?

[She watches him look through the items, her breath held and her teeth pressed very lightly against the inside of her bottom lip. Her relief when he seems to deem the gifts acceptable is visible - literally, since her breath can be seen when she finally lets it out in a sigh. Though her reflex is to want to help him with the scarf right away, she holds back a moment, clasping her hands together and waiting for him to say something. When he does,]

Of course...! [Well, and made the drawing.] I wanted to get something nice for you. It's the least I can do. [She owes him that much and more.] So--... do you like them?

Of course I do!

[He likes them a lot! It's just that as a lion, he can't express his love for her drawing and the skateboard the way he would like to. He can still play with the scarf though.]

They're great, Naminé! I might have to wait for the snow to melt before I can skate again, but it's still really cool! When I'm human again, I'll try it out in the house. Maybe I'll skate down the slide.

[It sounds dangerous but that's never stopped Sora.]

I'm so glad...!

[And she really is. Phew! Gift-giving success. Thank goodness, too - she'd have especially hated to disappoint Sora.]

[That sure does sound dangerous, geez.]

Please-- try not to break anything. [Bones or otherwise. She watches him play with the scarf for moment, then,]

I can straighten that out for you, if you'd like.

[Since she still has her thumbs, and all. Not to criticize the way he did it, but--]

That would be good. I don't want to trip!

[He slides down the side of the box and to the ground again. Should he stand on his hind legs so she doesn't have to reach so low?]

Sorry I'm so close to the ground.

Of course. We can't have that.

[No, she seems perfectly happy to kneel next to him, no matter how much snow there is, and sets to work arranging the scarf so it'll stay on and out of his way.]

Don't worry, Sora, I don't mind. It's not your fault. -- There. Does it seem okay?

[It fits comfortably, but there's one thing he has to be sure of. He shakes his head and neck, testing whether the scarf will stay or be thrown off. The scarf remains so he stops and nods.]

It's good! Thanks Naminé.

[She stays put, watching as he tests it out with a subtle, reflexive tilt to her own head. Her smile widens slightly when the test yields a positive result.]

You're welcome. Any time, Sora.

[But her knees are starting to freeze so she rises to her feet, swiping at said knees to try to get the clinging snow off.]

It looks good on you.

[Which she means as a compliment more to him than to her own fashion choices.]
