[There's a very quiet shuffling in the background, punctuated by a distant 'baa' right before Naminé begins to speak.]

Happy Holidays, everyone.

[She sounds to be in a fairly good mood.]

If anyone could suggest a place that I might be able to house my sheep while it's cold, I'd really appreciate it. It just seems wrong to leave her outside, and she's been in my room, but-- [Whoops, looks like she had to turn away from the bracelet for a moment.] Bo Peep, please don't do that...! [More clearly again,] ... but I've been thinking that it might not be the best place for her. Thank you-- Bo Peep, no! That's not food--

[Aaaaaaand there goes the feed.]

I... suppose so. [Her brow knits, though; even if she can understand what Aradia means and agree in that respect, Naminé can't help thinking of how the trolls lived under the Condesce's rule.] I see what you mean. If you look at it that way, she was excellent. But-- to me, being a good ruler - at least the way I meant it, isn't about how long you can hold on to power; it's about how you think of and treat your subjects, and the quality of their lives.

But most of us don't usually complain in the end, so she's still a good ruler technically. Many of us flourish under her rule.

I was happy as I was, even if I'm at the bottom of the system. Some are just more unfortunate than others.

Huh. [It's funny; to hear about it, it had seemed like an awful way to live, but-- well, she of all people should know better than to assume. Aren't there varied enough ways of looking at this situation, too, the one in Asgard?]

Well, I'm glad to hear it. I guess I'd have to see it firsthand to understand. [Pause.] But you know, Aradia - I get the feeling you'd be happy in most situations.

I guess I would! I mean, after dying and coming back to life and talking to the dead and knowing a lot, It's hard not to be happy!

I'm looking forward to what happens next. [For reasons.] You die and experience being dead and you just learn that there isn't all that much time to always feel that way.

Hee...! [That's... comforting, somehow, even if she can't say she expects to experience the same situation herself.]

I think I get it. ... Do you think you'll mind much, when you go back to being dead? [-- Well, any related emptiness notwithstanding--]

Oh, I don't plan on dying again. I've spent quite enough time being dead.

I came back to life back home and I intend to stay alive there and here. I wouldn't mind though. The dream bubbles are fun to go through and I could do that even dead.

[-- Pause. Headtilt.]

Well, I... guess that's good. ... Can you do that, though? I mean-- won't you get old, some day?

[Or is that not a Thing for trolls and she wasn't made aware of it?]

I'm... glad that you've made up your mind about it. [And made the choice she'd most approve of, if only because she can't help finding it sad for someone to long for death.]

You know what, I don't actually know what's going to happen really. I have immortality back home so I never thought what might happen with that being a thing. That's a good question!

Normally, I'd have a very short lifespan because of my blood though.

[Although, her sense of death is very skewed, so she doesn't really think dying is all that terrible.]

It'd be strange to me, I think, if it were me. I mean-- I never really thought much about getting old either, but... immortal. Huh. [That's even weirder to try to imagine.]

--.... How short?

[Also it's pretty awful that that's even a thing.]

I can't really say in terms of human years! I don't really know, but I probably would have had the shortest life span amongst my friends. I think the only person who may be in the same situation is my friend, Karkat.

I see....

[Wow. All these things to be sad about, with the trolls' life situation. She's just about to apologize when she stops herself.]

That's unfortunate. -- I think I've met Karkat before. He has... 'low' blood, too?

His blood isn't low so much as very rare and uncommon. Technically, his blood is a mutation. Usually, most would not even care for him usually. But time was kind to him.

[Now that's interesting. Sad, rather, but-- she can relate. She makes a mental note to see about speaking to him again, if he's in the city. She can guess what Aradia means about time and its kindness.]

Because the situation changed?

To be honest, our race became much more kind as things progressed. In the past, no one would ever take his kind in, but Karkat's lusus ended up taking him in.

[And she thinks that it shows that they're kind at least progressed in some way.]

[Huh. Well...]

That's... comforting. [Even if it's not the best, it's a 'better'. She pauses, then,]

Lusii are... like animals, right? Even they wouldn't have taken him in? [She can't being curious, of course.] What-- or who was his lusus? [Which would be applicable, there? She means species, but-- ugh.]

They are. It's hard to really explain since I never had a reason to explain them to those who weren't familiar. But yes, before, his mutation would have usually left him stranded had our race not have grown to be more compassionate. It is usually rare for him to exist passed the stages of being a grub.

I think his was a crab beast of some kind!

[So he would have been killed, then. That seems to be the implication. So much death in their world, even for the young.]

I think I understand. Well... I'm glad that he made it, then.

[Huh.] That... must have been interesting. You know - it sounds like a fascinating system. It's a little hard for me to imagine what it must be like, I think. I'm curious.

[He'd probably just die rather than be killed. No one to raise him and all.]

Oh yes! He is part of my session after all.

It seems it's a similar system to humans and parents. But even then, it's not quite the same.

[Murder by neglect? (She does have a tendency to expect violence, unfortunately, and not just because it's trolls.)]

Of course. [That's... one way to look at it.] Did you two get along?

Mm. I agree. Lusii... don't speak, do they?

To some extent. He can be a little difficult to deal with at times, though.

Not really. No.

I think I might have an idea of what you mean. He... seemed kind of noisy, from what I saw.

That's one of the big differences, I think - it's something else when you can explain things with words as well.

I guess nosy is one way to put it. He wanted to be the leader in charge, but I don't really think he's trying to do that anymore, since everything has happened.

It was a mutual relationship. We knew what we were supposed to do in return. Condependent relationship and all.

That... does sound like it would be a hard job. [She pauses, then,] Do you think he would have been a good one?

Mm. Sometimes you don't need words. [Even if they do make for a different sort of situation.]

I think he wasn't a terrible leader, but I don't really think it was his thing either.

Huh. Well, I guess it could be worse, if someone had to do it.
