Ϡ 1st Feather ⇁ Video
[ When the video flips on, it is to Altaïr barely masking his disdain. ]
It would seem that these bracelets are a necessary trinket.
I have been... absent, for some time. What little I remember, the outcome of Asgard's battle looked bleak. It seems that this was overcome. What else have I missed?

Altair, did you perhaps remove the bracelet?
no subject
No of course not why would he do such a foolish thing especially after being warned...
He really isn't sure what to say, so it takes him awhile to respond. ]
It was absent from my person for a time.

I was beginning to wonder where you had gone off to, Altaïr. [A beat.] There has been much that has happened while you were gone.

Then we should speak. [ You can practically hear his teeth grinding. ]

Freyr's dead, though, and Freya's pissed at us about it.

[ You look very familiar, Desmond. It's... a little eerie, actually. ]
We cannot dictate the actions of others. [ Basically Freya can eat it in his opinion. ]

I was aware of the risks. A battle was raging, the bracelet was not my first priority.

that is not the face of a 60 year old man as it should have been. that is the face of someone who is much, much younger. he almost wants to think that maybe this isn't his father, maybe this is just someone who looks very much like his father did when he was a child (although younger looking than even that), but he is no fool. he knows that as much as he wants to think that, to convince himself that this is not his father, to do so would be foolish. he would only hurt himself more in the end by doing so.
he does hold on to the foolish hope that Altaïr will know him, though. maybe he would only know a newborn version of Darim, but even if it's only that at least it would be something. because if Altaïr doesn't know Darim at all, Darim will have lost the only remaining person that he truly cares about. ]
And the bracelet-- the bracelet had something to do with your absence? [ his voice isn't as strong as he'd like it to be, but he can't muster up the energy for anything else right now. not when he's so nervous. ]

The removal of ones bracelet causes one to become like the grey-faced people that populate this world.
[ His answer is short, and precise. But all the while he is studying the other's face intently, wanting to be absolutely sure that he can say he does not know him. ]

My brother will never let you hear the end of this.
1/idk I'll let you know when I'm done.
2/?
3/3 done!
...Kadar.

FINALLY! PLAYING WITH YOU AGAIN! :D
You misplaced your bracelet? [He frowns slightly] We have been warned about not taking off the jewelry they gave us, but none I asked would tell me what would happen if removed. Do you know what has happened to you while you were not wearing it?
no subject
As it was informed to me, I became one of the faceless people that populate this world. Grey, and colourless until it was returned to me by a guard. As for the actions I may have taken- I have no memory of this. My time after the bracelet was removed is lost to me.

Did I not warn you of this? Was I not clear enough?

You were clear, Malik. [ There's an edge to his tone- though he's trying valiantly to keep it under control- to act humbled, because of everyone here it is Malik who deserves this respect first and foremost. ]
In the heat of battle I must have-- misplaced it.
[ Not quite the truth, but not quite a lie, either. ]

Welcome back, Altaïr. I'm so glad you managed to return to us.
[Is that slightly sarcastic?
Yes it is.
Oops.]
And who are you? [ The demand is short, and clipped. He has no time for pointless ridicule, but perhaps she has other, more important and interesting information that he can glean.
But then again, she is a woman. ]

[Scowling or not, he does resemble his statue that had been under Mario's villa.]
no subject
It's just a shame that she is a woman, though. He doesn't exactly see those in high regard
yet. ]And you are? [ Which, with the tone he uses reads more like: And why should I care? ]
[ video ]
Sorry I can't tell you much about the battle, though. I think we're all just kinda waiting around right now...
[ video ]
If he had no information on the battle, then what good was he, really? Not much, in Altaïr's opinion. ]
Waiting? Waiting for what- or do you have no answers to that, either.
