[That's a very ill-tempered expression this new arrival is wearing. He's got a zippo lighter in one hand, and he glares down at the dancing flame for a moment before looking back up at the camera.]

You know what's bullshit, Asgard?

[He holds his hand over the flame just long enough to leave an ugly welt, then shows his palm to the camera; although the process is slow, the blistered red skin is visibly starting to heal.]

This, right here, is bullshit. I'm not Logan. Who the hell would want to be Logan. My name is Pyro, because I manipulate fire. I don't care who these "gods" are, or what they want, or why they did it - you don't mess with a mutant's ability. Give me back what's rightfully mine, what I was born with, and maybe there won't be any trouble.

[Totally unaware that he's just made the least original first post ever, he ends his side of the feed and waits for responses.]

The last battle that took part in this realm made many think that the Gods have their favor in mind, that the battle is our own. One of the Gods even gained the city more precious time by sacrificing himself. But in the end, the politics of this realm are something only the gods understand entirely and those who think they are without their own interest are misguided, naive or foolish, indeed.

That's a lot gentler language than I'd use about them. [He laughs, although without much humour.] I've done the whole "shut up and appease the people who are screwing you over" thing before, for way too long. If the gods expected me to sit back and take it like most people here are, they picked the wrong time.

Is a lady not supposed to be gentle?

[ her tone is innocent at the most part but with a clear bite to it. Mix honey and some toxin and perhaps a shade of a grin. ]

And who did you try so to appease?

There's a lot more to you than that. Do me a favour and don't lose it - I need someone sane to talk to here.

Humans, of course. The last one we dealt with decided to try his hand at genocide. I don't know how, but he managed to convince one of the most powerful psychics and biggest bleeding-heart mutants in the world to make a mental link with all of us, then kill us all off. And it would've happened, too, if the one that Xavier tried to tell us was the bad guy didn't step in.

He leaves himself open for that shit, though, because he trusts them. He thinks diplomacy will actually work when we're dealing with crazy assholes like this. I've had about enough of diplomacy.

[His features are absolutely disfigured with rage, although he's said most of this in a relatively even tone. It gives the overall impression that, although grotesque, the scenario was hardly unimaginable in his world.]

[ a slight frown crosses her face, genocide. ]

I know of what you speak. My kind has been persecuted for many years where I am from. Men, women, children, mothers, sons, daughters, all of them were murdered in cold blood. Some lost their heads, others burned for being born with magic.

There is no forgiveness for such acts and there is no point conversing with those who commit such crimes against others only because they are born gifted with a power they cannot hope to understand.

[He nods grimly. The methods are a bit arcane, but other than that, it all sounds familiar.]

When you've spent most of your life fighting for the right to live just because of your abilities, you don't just give them up because someone says there's no other choice. People who just come here and get a fancy new power to play with - they can't understand it being a part of you.

The gods care very little for such concerns. You are right, of course. Take a sword from he who only mastered swords and replace it with a bow - foolish. We should have fought in our own terms, if at all. This war is not our own and yet we are made soldiers to it.

You believe all this stuff about total apocalypse if Asgard's side loses?

I don't know. The one thing I know is this, if they wised for us to win their war they would let us maintain our powers. The gift they had so kindly bestowed upon me is nothing to what I heard I can do with my magic. Yet they have taken it. For beings who wish to see this war won, they certainly pose odd conditions for their fighters.

Tell me about it. I'd be spouting a hell of a lot more fire than a dragon if they'd just left me alone. I don't get what the endgame is yet, but it's not what everyone thinks it is. That much is obvious to anyone but an idiot.

Whatever it is, the gods shall have it in their own terms. And those include them stealing away what once belonged to us. I do not know how this can be won back.

I don't either, not yet. But I won't give up. They've proven themselves that they can die, even if he did it himself. That wasn't a very smart thing to give up.

Such talk is refreshing. Perhaps the gods chose some for this city who would do them more harm than good.

[ she'd see them all burn for how they played them ]

[He smirks, just offering a little nod. It's always his pleasure to stir up a little trouble.]

Pyro. [And yes, his post is labelled John Allerdyce. Asking about that is unwise.]

[ she'll be the last to question anyone's name choice. ]

So, magic, huh? What was your specialty back home?

I had not the chance to explore it before I came here. I was living under the roof of the man who would burn those with my gift.

[ but she does know of something. ]

My dreams. Rather often they came to pass.

... I'm assuming you had a pretty damn good reason for that.

[He looks angry, but not at her - it's just his hatred of humans bubbling back up as it tends to do.]

So prophecy, then. We've got some psychics, but their abilities are broader than that.

Would having no choice suffice as one?

[ somewhat bitterly. She never asked to be Uther's ward, it was he that betrayed her father and led him to his death, something she will never forgive him for no matter how much time they would spend here. It had brought her good things too; Arthur, Gwen, Merlin. But in the end, it was not a choice. ]

What can they do?

[He looks just offscreen darkly.] I chose free room and board over my own beliefs, so you tell me.

Well, read minds, of course, and link minds. Project thoughts. Things like that. Xavier's probably the strongest, though, he can do just about anything. [This is said with a good deal of acid in his tone.]

And yet you show him great dislike.

[ curious. the why is not said but very implied. ]

Because he won't do anything with it! He sits back and lets humans walk all over mutants, claiming it's "diplomacy" when it's really just bending over and taking it.

Well. He won't have me as one of his pawns anymore, anyway. I've got better things to do than wait around for humans to change their minds.

If they are killing your people, then it is right to do nothing and your right to do something.

I plan to. If I have to do it here before I can at home, I'll deal with that. Consider it a practice run.
